If someone has enough money and just wants to run a small town with them and a couple of friends living there (like blah) then a higher price wouldn't stop them from doing that to be honest. Definitely wouldn't have stopped me from doing it. A towny server is also about creativity and the diversity of what people can achieve by themselves or with friends, we shouldn't raise prices with the intention of pushing out the people who want small towns.
If we want to raise towns prices it should be because there is more money in the economy now than what there used to be. I'd be a fan of raising the price to around 400-500k with 75k in the town bank

You may be right in some sense, but I didn’t mean to say to get rid of the people who want small private towns. I meant to say that by raising the towns price we can have less people making towns on the whim filled with inactive people. I’ll explain it backwards. With the fact of it being that the economy is a lot bigger now and people have more money, this has resulted in towns being easier to make for players. This in my opinion has made people make towns only because they can, and has left so many small abandoned hamlets instead of more purposeful towns. I’m not meaning to condemn the people who only want to make private towns with their friends but as the numbers go to show the vast majority of towns are made because it’s so easy now, rather than because it’s something that players need to work for. It’s easy to distinguise these towns from hard working private people towns, (whew, gotta catch a breather) simply because of
how many less than 5 player towns there are. This has left the towns world in a more unconnected and divided state than it used to be. The people who want to make their private towns will work hard to get the money they need, but the less trying people won’t bother. Because money is so easy to come these days, it doesn’t take much for an untrying player to achieve that.
That being said, if the town price is increased, more towns will be bigger (because more people want to make their own medium or big towns than private towns), and the rest will be all the private friend towns. Both of these towns share in common their strive to get the money and not the instant ease.
Sorry for my lack of clarification and long paragraph; read however much you feel like. :)
