Again. Irrelevant. But its a required payment yes. Its not a purchase because the government decided to give you something back.
Fuzzlr calls it that because its easier to fight charge backs and it disempowers the consumer into thinking that they don't have the right to expect anything from the server, when in fact they do. They don't have decision making power per say, but if the rank sellers all decide that they won't donate until fuzzlr adds a certain plugin, you can bet a pretty penny that its going to be done real quick. So, there is some power over things, but its not one that is exercised and for the better that it not be.
To use your own example, If 85%% of apple consumers said that they wouldn't buy another apple product unless they changed their ban on gay employees, Apple is going to change that policy real quick.

That's normally what happens when you boycott a company, but you don't buy the product with strings attached. You buy the product, and that's it. You have no influence except for where your money goes. What happens as a result of where you put (or don't put) your money is a different matter.
In any case, you don't have that kind of power, as there's not nearly enough people willing to boycott donations (much less 85%) for there to be a simple change in terminology, a single plugin, etc.As for irrelevance I'll refer you to post 21 of the thread

The point of the statement was to show how people who arent directly involved with a company do have some influence in it. I didn't say it was to actually happen on meep ( rank sellers banding together and demanding something). To disprove your point though, thats not true if you are a repeat customer because of the fact that you DO get to decide where your money go. You get to buy from whatever company you wish and its the company that has to convince you to spend your money with them. As to the boycott thing, I don't care because I'm not trying to boycott donations. It was an example, so I don't know why you are talking if thats what I am trying to accomplish. Thats not what this thread. You are missing the points behind statements and not understanding how business marketing and economics work. They don't work in the way you state.

It.Is.Not.A.Donation. I'm baffled how its still called a donation by so many people. The term is used to imply that you have no rights as a person who spent money, but you do. You are customers. These are not donations. You buy a product and exchanged money for it. This isn't an argument, there isn't really much to discuss. Legally, its a purchase. You cannot write this off for a tax deduction. Even the owner of the server came on and essentially said they were purchases.
I'm saying this for two reasons.
1) The fact that this was settled long ago and people still blindly argue that it is with no substantial evidence beyond that fact that the server says donations.
2) It disempowers the supporters of the server by essentially saying that once you hand over your money, you are entitled to nothing because I call it something its not. Its a trick and its not something those who keep the server afloat should fall for because they are the reason this server remains. Don't be fooled.

I see and understand your viewpoint and can honestly agree with you looking at it now.... Most people who do "donate" actually spend money on a server to get Perks to get a better lead or edge in the server over other players....

It's been discussed numerous times, I suggest if you want to make a section for re-discussing things that have been on forums every few weeks/months then make a suggestion to create a section for that : D and there you can post your silliness deinen. God you've went downhill.

I don't expect anything to change. This is more a PSA for the people who continuously call something by its wrong term because it punishes people who pay the server money.

If you read the last part of my original post, which I explicitly explain why its important to have this distinction, or bothered to read any of Deinen's comments, you would see that the point is the term donation implies that "donors" are not entitled to expect any reasonable service because they didn't in fact pay for anything. In reality, they are customers and have the right to expect things from the producer, which is fuzzlr. I want people on meepcraft to realize that instead of being disempowered by their own community.

Yes, and that very idea is why people think they don't have a right to reasonable expectations from the server, making them essentially powerless and the people making them powerless are the very community they say they love so much.

No, he's went "downhill" since I've gotten back on meep. He used to be a lot better when he was staff, not because he was staff, he's just gotten.. Not sure what word I should use.. Just.. Downhill..
