i want to try playing pokemon because it's all over the Internet and I feel left out. So I want to play pokemon, I've got a Nintendo DS. So which game do I get first? Thanks

Alpha Sapphire or Omega Ruby would be good intros to the series plus you would have access to all of the features. If you don't have a 3DS, it really doesn't matter which one
Id recommend White 2/ Black 2, Platinum, Soulsilver/heart gold, or Fire red/ leaf green

You won't need to know what you're doing really, you'll get the hang of it

The first Pokemon I ever played was Diamond/Pearl. I would personally suggest those :D

Favorite pokemon game of all time is

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of sky

It's ironically not a main series game but I have an emotional connection to that game

Sounds dumb as hell but It was so amazing I cry because the final boss just has amazing music to go along with it and the fact saving the world was in your hands was just too much to handle

But don't start there, start with something basic

Fire red for Gameboy was great, and I haven't stopped since. I also really enjoyed Diamond and Platinum, falls off after that imo

I also have a DS but I would like to know which version you are having?
There are DS original, DS Lite, 2DS and 3DS.
If you have DS original or DS Lite, consider buying Pokemon Black 2 or White 2.
If you have 2DS or 3DS, get Aloha Sapphire and Omega Ruby.

Its probably the original, although lots of people are recommending omega ruby alpha sapphire so I might just get a 2/3ds and go for that. There are some other games I've been looking at for the 2/3ds so it won't be a problem.
