The problem with this is that right before the reduction, people quickly invest their money into something like gold or diamonds and wait until the reduction happens. right after they sell it off either at original value or they sell it for a little cheaper and lose way less money than expected. This prevents a lost of a lot of meebles and actually changes the price of the object they invest in.

Fuzzlar No need to do a pole... Just Let the 1% tax run for 20 days! or 30 days and then shut it off... this will reducts the Drastic reduction in one second of the economy but will also do you 20%... Since today was first day just stop the 1% tax in 30 days... but in the same time make sure that the peopel that bought all the gold in the last 2 weeks knowing this was going to happen don't make any profits becuase they are purposly CHEATING the system! Pros: 1% per day would hurt the people with the most money. Horneman's has 200 Mil, and would loose 2 mil everyday, I do not watch his balance but I do not think he makes 2 mil a day, so he would "ideally" start to decay. Whereas if someone has 100 K, they would only lose 1k a day, surely they could earn more than that per day.

Cons: Long term effect of a daily tax would seem ridiculous.

I personally don't care, but I am sure Onis would love to see Horneman's lose the 40 Mil he made off the superbowl bet ;p

+1 for the 20% reduction, definitely -1 for the 1% daily tax (though 1% weekly or monthly might not be so bad).

As much as I love it now, the potential to get $6,000 Meebles per day for voting is going to cause inflation fast. If you do a reduction and not a tax, the standard voting awards could be lowered, while keeping the high "lucky" bonuses as an incentive for richer players to keep voting daily.

I agree with lowering the eco but not a fan of 1% tax I can see a 1% one time tax but not a 1% everyday that I heard everyone on the server get mad.

Edit:why not just have everyone pay a one time for the eco change but richer people pay more than the poor to decrease the gap between the poor and rich.

Edit 2: just add more ways to spend meebles and just 1 time charge on everyone then that will be a good change for now.

I like your idea, but maybe killing all villagers AND adding more ways to spend money would be great. One new way to spend that I would love to see is /nick.

Can we please just give up on the tax idea, when people buy money online to donate, theres really no point anymore. Making the server lose money. There would also be no point to buy a rank anymore. PLEASE JUST GIVE UP WITH THE TAX IDEA!!!!! Please consider what I suggested to you in the skype call a couple months ago.

Add factions with eco and make a shared economy, though split inventories. People will make money in towny and spend it in factions on war.

How about the idea in which the higher amount of meebles you got, the less percentage you get taxed? (you will be taxed for more meebles but for a smaller percentage). This will still make sure that everyone is taxed and players who have worked hard to earn larger amounts of meebles are not punished as hard.

< 1mil = 4% per month
< 5mil = 3.5% per month
< 10mil = 3% per month
< 50mil = 2.5% per month
< 100mil = 2.25% per month
< 250mil = 2% per month
< 500mil = 1.5% per month
< 1bil = 1% per month

There are two points to the planned tax/reduction.
1. Decrease the amount of meebles in cirulation
2. decrease the gap between rich and poor
This idea goes against number 2 and isn't effective for numbe 1 because the poor have less meebles to give. On top of all of that it makes earning money extremely hard
