Towns Mob Bug

    Bug: Mobs don't attack you when they spawn once the chunk is loaded but when you unload the chunk, come back they want to rip your face off Kinda like this cat...

    Steps to reproduce: Put spawners down, let em spawn mobs, go to a pwarp like squad or spawn then do /back or go to the pwarp of the spawner. you can do this on my pwarp mob

    I wasn't killed because they were on a plot with mob spawning and I was on a plot next to it with mob spawning off so they couldn't get to me so all the other mobs but blazes died because they tried to walk to me

    its not a bug, this was added to reduce the insane amounts of lag that thousands of colliding entities caused in these stupid spawner grinders.
    be lucky we have what we have.

    if you're still not following, "dumb mobs" don't move, therefore don't collide, therefore don't lag, on top of the lack of other AI features, it helps quite a bit with lag.

    if you want to fight for something, lets get the mob cap raised a wee bit since most mobs are dumb now. like 40 instead of 25 or whatever.....

    Makes no sense, how does it reduce lag. All it does it make me type /plot toggle mobs twice...

    It reduces lag because it reduces the amount of stuff the server has to load, basically.

    It reduces lag. As an entity move it increases lag. (I think that is what Jwarian is trying to say or w/e).

    Explain more of this @Jwarian. He doesn't get it and wants to argue :p

    I see now that you are referring to the dumb mobs being given an AI again as the actual bug, to that I agree with you somewhat.
    They should stay dumb, on the other hand, we should always treat the mobs with respect whether they are dumb or not, (i.e. don't rest your life in the hands of a dumb mob)

    There isn't an easy way to fix this, the only way is to write a new part of the /spawner plugin that adds a tag to the spawned entity(mob) so that it can be differentiated from normal entities when the map is saved,unloaded,loaded, etc. I think the current trick is just making the mobs think they are in peaceful mode, but I don't think there is a way to save the individual mob states after they are spawned, like... you can spawn them in and trick them into thinking its peaceful mode, but you can't save the data to include their last thoughts, when the chunk is reloaded it just goes through the normal AI surroundings check, you would have to make all mobs dumb on the whole world all the time in order to counter this.
    I do not know if entities can have NBT tags or if it would require an actual mod to add "duplicate" mobs with no AI, then the spawner would just be spawning custom mobs.........doubt its going to happen.

    And if it does, I want mini-ghast-named-timmy spawners.
