Why we should consider your appeal:

I am assuming here that this ban is for skyblock as I found Quaddy on my island, and he ignored me when I tried to request the reason from him. If this is not, please correct me. I was mining cobblestone when I found him. I am assuming that the Hacked Client/Macro I was using was for the cobblestone I was mining. I do not use any third party software to mine cobblestone, simply hold my mouse down and have hoppers collect the cobblestone. Because mining cobblestone is extremely boring, I often watch other things using a second monitor. I do not leave the area, and frequently look back to my computer screen. If this is illegal, I was not aware and it was not included in the Skyblock rules section. Obviously, external clients used to gain an advantage in the game is illegal server wide, however I did not use one. Quaddy, if you believe I used an external client please reply with what you found.

Quaddy did try to message you to see if you were there several times. He also tped you around to see if you would continue mining.

I understand that mining can be boring, and that not everyone pays attention to the chat or some people just have it turned off. However, the fact that you did continue mining and didn't look to see if anyone had messaged you is a bit concerning.

 

So, the ban is for "afk" mining? I understand how that could be illegal on a skyblock server, however as I stated before nothing was mentioned in Skyblock rules about it. I also cannot see how it pertains to a Hacked Client/Macro seeing that no third party software was involved.

In the video, there were 4 time intervals where Quaddy's presence was noticeable on my screen for a total of 47 seconds out of the 6 mins.(Excluding the 3 times he may or may not have stood in front of me at the beginning of the video)

2:50->2:58 (8 Seconds)

3:53->4:12 (19 Seconds)

4:42 -> 4:49 (7 Seconds)

5:25->5:38 (13 Seconds)

My attention was not away from the screen for a consecutive six minutes. As I said before, I will use a second monitor to do other things and periodically check back on this one. I never leave the area. I remember the time when this video was taken because of TrommerBJ's Question: "Do you get anything for winning the daily top 8 in kitpvp?". I checked back on my screen one of the two times he asked this question and questioned it myself.
I was watching an episode of Castle on my second screen when this video was taken.

If Quaddy is not referring to the "afk" part of this video and instead on how I consumed several stone pickaxes while appearing to be away from the computer screen; then I can see how a macro would be involved. I do not in fact use a macro for this task, simply look back every few minutes and press a number to switch tools on my hotbar.

If "afk" mining of this sort is illegal, I apologize for my actions. Thank you for your response on this BooBear.

Although it is POSSIBLE that your story is factual, let me express a few issues I have.

Having dual monitors myself I understand that it is possible to have MC open on monitor 1 and another program such as Chrome etc on say monitor 2, BUT in order for you client to not pause and continue mining you would have to be in-game holding your left mouse button.

If you happen to have a similar computer setup to the one I do, one could assume that your monitors would be adjacent to one another similarly to the monitors pictured here. If I am correct in my assumption that your monitors are organized in such a fashion then it would be safe to assume that even while watching Castle on an adjacent monitor you would certainly be aware if your player were to be moved to a different position or even if you were to receive a message.

Your continuous mining even after I messaged and teleported you led me to confidently believe that you were using an AutoMine Mod/Client which resulted in your ban.

 

Quaddy, I understand how my use of the word monitor misled you. My second monitor is in fact an iPad. I use an office chair that has the ability to turn, I am sure you are familiar with the type. When watching things on my iPad, I often turn away from my desk to rest my elbow on my knee as I do not have a stand for my iPad and have to hold it. I usually have to turn back around to return to veiwing the game.

 

Instead of stating you use a tablet or iPad to watch movies/shows to pass time as you mine, you clearly stated that you used a second monitor, implying that you had dual monitors.

Either way, I have stated my reasoning behind the ban that was issued and another staff member will form a decision on this appeal.

 

Thank you Quaddy, and I am sorry for the confusion. In my book, monitor and computer screens are the same thing.

 

I feel you understand that what you did was wrong, I also can accept that you honestly didn't think you were breaking server rules on a "perm" ban level. I would support the idea of unbanning you IF these conditions are met:

1. Your balance is wiped
2. Your skyblock is reset
3. You agree to refrain from placing weights on your mouse to profit or whathaveyou

However, since I cannot help with those first two conditions I am going to leave this thread for higher staff member to make a decision on.

 

Thank you for your response on this Jwarian. I honestly did not think I was breaking any server rules at all. So far by the looks of it, Quaddy banned me for suspected use of a Macro/AutoMine Client, not "afk" mining. If "afk" mining is illegal, as it has not been confirmed yet, I do apologize.

In the case that it is illegal and I broke server rules, I agree to have my balance wiped as I made profit this way. There are two other members on my skyblock who contributed much more to the island than I did. I am sure they will be more than angry if my island is reset because of me, so I will leave that decision to a staff member.

Also, I do not use weights on my mouse, or any other sort of cheat to mine. I have my hand on the mouse the entire time, as putting weights on it would cross the line into true afk mining. Either way, true afk mining is cheating in my book, and personally, cheating just kills the game. I agree to refrain from putting weights on my mouse to mine cobblestone.

 

I will reduce your ban to time served and have applied a fine.
