Hotbar not registering changes

----------- ATTENTION ------------- The problem seems to be explained in my latest post

I have been experiencing the bug for 3 days straight now, therefor I elaborated on the issue a bit more and rewritten the whole post.

IGN(In Game Name): Y4cky

Bug: I am having difficulties placing an item from my inventory into a hotbar slot on the Skyblock world.

If I have an empty slot in my hotbar, an item I pick up is properly placed into the slot and I can do regular stuff with it, however, when I open my inventory with "E" and manually drag an item from the backpack into a hotbar slot the game does not register the change. Meaning: Graphically --- the icons of the items swap places, but the "real" item is not changed and by trying to use it from the slot I placed it into will just - 1. make the item disappear until a chest/furnace/craftin table/... is opened OR 2. place the item that was in the slot prior to the swap.

The only solution to this problem is using the before mentioned equipment (chest, furnace...) to change up ones hotbar effectively.

I have been playing on both 1.7.10 and 1.8 MC version. I am using the regular MC client, with no modifications whatsoever. I do use the Faithful32 resource pack though. I have not checked if playing with the regular resource pack will fix the problem yet.

EDIT: I did check if using the basic resource pack makes any difference, to no avail, sadly.
EDIT2: I should also probably mention that I am from middle EU (SVK), and my internet connection is pretty solid. I do not experience any types of lags (block, players) and I do have a new semi-gaming laptop that handles MC very well. (Lenovo Y510P, SLI edition)


Time/Date of Report: Since the 8th of November
Steps to reproduce: The hotbar is not registering changes ONLY after I go to my island after being at the /warp skyblock location. The problem is gone as soon as I relog and comes back with a repeated visit of /warp skyblock.
Evidence: I can not provide any besides what I have described.

I have updated the post to be a little bit more informative, I hope it is all understandable.

 

J00mad, do you use the default MC resource pack? If not, Y4cky, could you try that resource pack and see if anything changes?

 

Heh, just edited the post right after you posted. Yes I did check, and I am still experiencing the problem.

 

How is the server behaving when this happens? (i.e. lag)
Also, what world is this happening in, if there is a specific world?

 

The server is behaving normally all the time. I do not have any issues with it.

Oh... of all the things I did not mention that? I am playing exclusively on SkyBlock, haven't played on any other
world yet. If it is needed I could check if the same problem occurs on other worlds as well.

Yes please test it in other worlds if you can. That'd be beneficial to resolving your problem.

 

Hey there. I went to the Wild World, gathered a few bits and bobs and the hotbar/inventory management is working just fine there. So this narrows the problem a bit.

Well I first noticed it on 1.8. After that I switched back to 1.7.10, it worked fine for an hour or so, since then it is happening on both versions. (Since being 3 days)

 

Hm, let me talk to some other people about this issue. If its a very difficult issue for you in skyblock, I implore you to play on other servers until this issue is resolved.

 

Well it is a nuisance but I can live with it. I already tried a couple of other SkyBlock server before Meepcraft, but I had terrible block-lag on each one of them. And I already progresed too far just to start over, you know, the lazy type :S

I just carry around a crafting table in my hotbar and do the reorganizing in it, not a biggie

EDIT: Erm, as of the time of this edit, my hotbar/inventory swaps are working fine in SB, no idea for how long. I am not aware of doing anything to cause this.

Okay, I was pretty sure I tried out a simple thing such as reloging and I might have, but this time I relogged on the island and the problem was gone.

So I went ahead and warped to Skyblock lobby, then went back to /island home. The problem was back.

I relogged -> the problem was gone yet again.

I tried going /spawn then going to my island with /home -> the problem did NOT appear.

So my conclusion from that is... that the problem only occurs when a player (I am not sure how many actually have this problem) warped to /warp Skyblock and then went on to his island. I have tested it several times, always the same.

 

That's very odd. I'll see whats going on with this. I'll leave this open for more.

 

Another day passed by, the problem still stands as I last described it. So, just for further confirmation, as it stands now, the hotbar is not registering changes ONLY after I go to my island after being at the /warp skyblock location. The problem is gone as soon as I relog and comes back with a repeated visit of /warp skyblock. I will add this to the "Steps to reproduce" section.

 

Thank you for a continued update, we implore you to not go through /warp skyblock as this is the source of your problem however, we are looking for a way to fix this entirely.

 

Well, there are 2 reasons for which I travel to my island via /warp skyblock. One, the more obvious, is the need to be in the skyblock world to use /island (my /home is in the SkyBlock Nether, therefor I can not use it to get on my island) and the second reason is that it refreshes your hunger and saturation, which is kinda cheaty to be honest.

EDIT: I usually do /home then /island or /warp skyblock then /island and a quick relog.

 

If you can avoid it, please do, if you can't, use the temporary fixes until a major fix can be made for you.

 

As I mentioned in my Skyblock thread, I stopped experiencing the problem today. /warp skyblock works normally.
I am not aware of any action I might have done to fix this problem.

 

I brought this bug up to Cooleys. Might have been him. Resolved for now.
