Hello Meeps. Earlier today we discussed ways to increase the value of the meeble through deflation and to decrease the growing gap between the rich and poor. We discussed the possibility of a 1% tax. However many people were upset because the tax would be too drastic and would cause players to carry a long-term burden, furthermore it would complicate the game mechanics of MeepCraft. It was suggested to me that we work on more ways for players to spend money, such as the lottery, pets, and transactional expenses.

    My Plan:

Instead of a 1% tax I suggest a 20% one time reduction of the economy. In addition to this, we will work harder to implement more spending outlets to maintain the size of the economy. The new size of the economy would be about 1.2 billion Meebles. We will implement measures to incentive spending for all players, instead of being forced to by a tax.

Edit: I think this is a good idea for the most part, meaning that people with the goal of having a massive town can do this easily... but one thing.

People that make temporary towns or "bunkers" will be loosing a lot of their money in the process. This could be solved with an outpost or having stuff at a friends house, but at another house it could be stolen and you must be assistant in a town to have an outpost.

    Just a suggestion, thanks Fuzzlr.

I like your idea, but maybe killing all villagers AND adding more ways to spend money would be great. One new way to spend that I would love to see is /nick.

You are trying to say that people should be taxed more if they are saving up for a rank. That is not logical or beneficial to anyone. That hurts the rank buyers, rank sellers, and the server because people won't buy ranks.

I think it would be a good idea, it would be more convenient than the long-term 1% tax!

Only if this is TRULY a one time reduction. No talks of taxes a few months later.

I'm all for the idea of having more outlets to spend money, I also think that Jobs should be reconsidered. Maybe only for those who have less than so much money? I don't know.
However, if you take the same percentage of money from all players rich or poor, then you're not closing the gap, just reducing the scale. Rich players will still be rich in proportion to the reduction, and poor players will still be poor..you get the idea. A scaled one-time reduction would make more sense.
