[Forum Game] Count to 2021 before 2021

This thread is a crime against humanity. This is the most brain dead, godforsaken, stupid piece of crap thing we do, and it is imperative that we destroy this thread for a better Meep. I seriously think hurling our own feces at monkeys is more productive than doing this literal 1st-grade counting game

The only thing your thread does is spam the recent activity section of the forums. It's not fun, it's not challenging, it's just counting to a big number. Regardless, I dont need to explain myself. Fuzzlr, deals still up

Spongey, im not the one literally counting to 2021. This thread took me 5 minutes.

 

Although I agree that the counting game is essentially needless, it really doesn't hurt the forums that badly. Half of the time that I check forums there's not even one active post listed. At least by having an active forum game it makes the forums looks a little more alive.

Really doesn't seem like that big of a deal.

Im impressed, you managed to ignore quite literally everything I said in my post, like how they spam the recent activity section of the forums and detract attention from posts with the actual substance of any kind. Here's a challenge! Explain how counting to XXX before XXX threads are even remotely fun. But no, you disagree with me, so it must mean I hate fun, right?

There's practically no posts on forums so I don't see how it directs attention away from anything and as far as spam goes it'll just always be most recent, so what? Also, I never said I found them personally fun. I just meant some people enjoy them and who are you to publicly bash them when it has literally has no impact on you in any way, shape or form. Like this is bait, right?

 

I dont need to explain myself, qazini. I just hate these threads. I know I don't have a real argument, so thats why Im bribing fuzzlr to remove it.

Am I perhaps exaggerating as a form of bait? Probably. But I really don't know why people support this, it's a thread who's legitimate goal is to create spam, look at the thread I posted about the same topic in 2015 for a better argument. It's just unequivocally stupid. I know threads being stupid isn't a reason to delete them and that I have no real case, and that's why im bribing Fuzzlr to remove it.

 

If you hate these threads then don't go on them ? ? there are so many other problems in the world yet you come to a minecraft server and express your hate for a counting thread on a minecraft forum. you're wasting more time on *this* thread than I do when I type a number in the count to 2021 thread

how's the spam going to bother you? do you get notifications for each post on the thread? do you always look at 'recent threads' and throw a tantrum because you see this counting thread under it?

it's a forum game. there are multiple forum games already on this forum. it just gives something for people to do if you come on the forum and are bored or whatever. no ones forced to participate

I really appreciate someone finally addressing this absolutely atrocious issue. Not like this is relevant whatsoever, but I do believe it applies to the situation. When I was a youngling I would often go on custom Runescape forums... (Most of them have been wiped off the face of the web, sadly.) When I first joined the forum, it was full of life, introductions left and right. But as time went by, the forums were bare... A wasteland of forum games... I messaged an old veteran user, the moment seems so clear... I was listening to a personal stereo in my room and asked him what the forum games were. His typing paused, he didn't even have to check but he immediately told me the forum games consisted of "Count to XXX before XXX".

And to my surprise,

He was right.

Thirty seconds to a minute later, the owner of the forum made an announcement. He said there had been a forum game attack and that we must disembark.

After that everyone was in complete hysteria.

It sounds silly, but witnessing that at a young age truly traumatized me. I've never seen a community of people appear to be completely disheveled before. Ever since then, I've had a grudge against forum games... Specifically counting ones.

 

Spongey I’ve admitted twice now that I don’t have a real argument. I want this thread removed, unjustly removed, reiterating here, because I believe it is literally an engine of spam. It’s a thread that adds nothing, no conversation, no amusement, nothing, just clouds the recent thread page of the forums. It’s so absolutely stupid, and no one in this thread has even began to explain how such is nothing but spam and has real substance to it.
