Pay for farmer job, remove /warp farming

Title says it all.

I’m putting this here so it has to be addressed in a staff meeting.

This will successfully render autofarms near to useless, making less autofarming occur. Which will reduce lag. Give incentive to play the game. And then there will probably be less afking at autofarms (since they really won’t do much).

Edit: Before someone comments it. The bug that made /warp farming the only unabuse-able solution has been fixed.

 

I feel like warp farming has pretty bad rates, so if you think it would clear up all that terrible lag im doubtful. I know a few other uses for the massive farms that work much better than /warp farming so i dont think youd be fixing much unfortunately. +1

It encourages interaction with the actual game.

Additionally, manual farms are SIGNIFICANTLY less laggy than Hornemans-style auto farms, improving the overall quality of the server for all players.

Interaction with the game should be required to get rich. Instead of large amounts of money staying stagnant in a top player's bal, interaction with other players should be encouraged. This is why vote tools hurt the eco. This is why parkour, although easy, has an obscene reward for comparatively little work; it encourages interaction with not only the game, but also one another.

The bug where instantly placing and breaking crops gives tons of money is fixed. When you place a crop, you can’t get paid for breaking it for 60 seconds

Auto farms dont pay as well, but I do hope to see a drop in the future.

Thanks @smk for bringing this up. Now that players can actually be payed for farming through the /jobs plugin, /warp farming is no longer needed. I understand that it might be annoying for players who own giant auto-farms to have their use removed, but these farms create lag so the owners of those machines can make money at /warp farming or by selling items to players to they can sell them at /warp farming. Having /warp farming for as long as we have probably has destroyed the actual value of many farm-able items such as sugar cane and cactus, but these items may gain back their value as players are no longer given the incentive to create giant auto-farms.

Ah yes, because tping back and forth between /warp farming and /home farm is NOT grindy at all

Huge -1. People have put time and energy into making auto farms around their base inorder to sell or trade for emeralds. Taking this aspect out will simply kill the tens of hours of time spent making these. Auto farming is a part of the game and has already been nearly nerfed to the floor. Taking this out seems nearly as if the people that hate this just dont want to make a farm big enough that makes profit.

Another aspect as you said is the autofarming. Afk farming is illegal and can be hard to check. However, if someone has been on for an excess of hours and there has been entities, that should be a given obvious to check if they are truly afk with a machine. Not doing so basicly allows the player to gain free money from /warp farming as this is what this fourm is about. SO, I would say simple check ups on players who are online for a plently of time should fix this problem with no issues.
