Re-Enable Rockets + Elytra

As of right now, fireworks are disabled for boosting elytra. When I asked him, ClueLessKlutZ claimed the reason was so as not to take away from /fly. This sounds okay, until you realize something vital: you cannot build while flying with elytra meaning /fly is still insanely helpful for building tall structures. I am considering buying ultimate eventually regardless of whether or not this is enabled.

5 reasons Elytra boosting being re-enabled would help the eco/server are:
1. Elytra might get used again, drastically raising the price of such a valuable and rare item.
2. gunpowder and paper would be useful again, giving /warp mobs a purpose as well as giving new players more ways to earn money at little cost to themselves.
3. Elytra courses/races could become a possibility for the ultimate top-tier player activity.
4. towns could take videos showing off the town from the skies, maybe attracting new players due to youtube!
5. Flying around with rockets is really fun tbh

Any bad things about Elytra boosting? I did think of a few, but they're risky (and expensive):
Elytra boosting in Wild could be used to travel long distances (but it's risky and expensive)
Elytra boosting in Nether for hyperfast travel (but it's insanely risky and still expensive)
Elytra boosting in End would nerf the dragon significantly (but it makes the fight so much riskier I don't think anyone would even try, plus it's still expensive no matter what)

There's no way I currently know of to dupe elytra, and since the value relies on low supply, high demand, there's not even much to encourage duping anyway (since duplicating the item makes them both worth less)

I think this would be a great addition which overall would help the economy and not discourage players from buying the Ultimate rank. (especially since the Ult rank has other useful perks, such as more sethomes). It might even help stimulate the economy for gunpowder, an item which currently isn't very useful or abundant.

Great thread. Rocket elytra doesn't take away from fly really at all and is a super fun feature. It's practically impossible to build anything using rocket elytra.

I think this would benefit the eco more than hurt anything else, so +1

- /fly is only enabled in towny, so it's not taking away from a "flying" experience in wild, not to mention /fly and elytra are different experiences entirely
- elytra are not static like /fly, meaning that there is still a market for /fly for people who want better building opportunities.

I don't see how it takes away from /fly because flying is cool and all but who doesn't want to fly super high speeds with wings? If anything, we should remove /fly because it takes away from the rocket elytra.

 

/fly is amazing, and elytras are amazing, keep both? +1
