When did you join Meepcraft? September 2012

Introduction: Hello there.
My name is Lucas and I’m a sixteen year old kid from Switzerland. I was born in Geneva, where I have spent my life. I finished middle school two years ago, and I am in my second of three years of high school. I am currently studying to get into medical school within the next few years. While I study hard, I still can guarantee one hour a day, vacations aside, of activity. To contribute to our expensive taxes, as well as my own expenses, I earn money where I can doing jobs here and there

Back in 2012 I discovered minecraft, and used to play with friends and family.
In September of that year, my brothers and I stumbled upon Meep, and we absolutely loved it. It was the biggest server we had seen, with an amazing community, which is why we decided to join and build a town. My « journey » on Meep has been a bumpy one, especially during my previous time on Staff.. Being a Staff member on the server I grew up on, means a lot. Unfortunately, as you all probably know, I was let go as a result of a poor decision I made, which I regret doing. Having time off from the staff team and not being able to contribute is tough, but has helped me learn to cater my decisions wisely.

Nowadays, I spend my time in Skyblock, Towny, and parkour enjoying every moment spent.. I try my best to assist new “Skyblockers” and give them the resources they need to get started, which gets them to come back and hopefully helps make the skyblock economy and community strive.

Why should you be Helper? There are a few qualities which I believe are essential for a staff member.

Level Headed
First, I have a calm demeanor. I don’t really care what people think of me as a person, but I would analyze and adapt accordingly to criticism as a Staff member. Criticism to me is feedback and advice, so I hardly ever get mad or lose my temper. I enjoy interacting with players, and honestly, that was my favorite part of being a Staff member--being able to positively contribute to our community.. While working on projects (which I’ll get to in a minute), discussing topics, and all things considered, I love just being what I am before anything else: a member of the community.


Team Player
Second, I can thrive while working on a team. Being able to work successfully on a team is an essential part to being Staff. If you cannot work properly on a team then you are already setting the group back as a whole. I loved being a part of both the quests and parkour groups. It was fun working on projects and the fulfilling the purpose behind them. I spent hours, asking questions, talking to people and drafting documents all with one end goal. This was really satisfying. My past experience did not go to waste, I did in fact learn how to cooperate and talk to the others to reach a specific goal.

Strong Work Ethic
Third, I believe my work ethic is exemplary. When it comes to work, I put my best foot forward, and do my best in all things I contribute to. Completing what I do in a timely manner and to the best of my ability is my end goal, regardless of the time it takes.

Communication
Fourth, but equally important element, is my communication and contact with the community that I've gotten to know over the years. Some have became good friends, and I couldn’t get that anywhere else than on Meep. I feel I have a great bond with most of the players out there, and it makes the job that more fun and worth it. By being respected within the community, this will hopefully translate to being respected as a Staff member allowing me to properly do my job.

Timezone and Knowledge
Finally, my last quality quality serves as a strategic advantage. My timezone and competent understanding of commands.Luckily (or unluckily) I was demoted several months ago but still have a good knowledge of Prism, which helped me stay on top of modreqs contributing greatly to the team as a whole.. The fact that I live in Switzerland, GMT +1 in summer and +2 in winter, which just fits the gap where the usually are not staff members on. Sure, that side of the pond is quieter, but it still does need a fair amount of moderation.

To be clear: I understand that a demotion sets an example, and getting accepted quickly after it doesn’t give out a bright image, but it’s been a while, and I feel I’m ready.

What are your weaknesses? Foolish
I can, by times, be childish. I’m a kid. I have no issues with this “behind the scenes”, while tackling projects or discussions, but I do say some idiotic stuff in game from time to time. Nobody is perfect, but I do try my best to refrain myself and maintain a role-model like stature.

Grammatical Functions
Another weakness is that my spelling isn’t always great, which is why I tend to use discord more than chat while speaking to players regarding subjects. (ie. @Achrow & @Bfy).


Occasional Disparities
Being a traveler leads to another weakness, my inactivity. From time to time I travel to places where I most likely will not have wifi, and thus I am inactive for a couple of days to a week or so. I can still however work on projects through google docs, but cannot be active in game, Minechat aside.

Humor
I have a poor sense of humor, and my jokes can sometimes be taken as offensive even though they are not meant to, of course. Working on this one.

Please give any other information you might think is useful for us to know: This is the third application, and yes they might seem repetitive as my life isn’t as amazing and interesting as some are, but that’s all I got.
I may not be the best application writer, but I know my way around the team and its different aspects, and feel capable of getting the job done.

+1 Great guy, and defiantly has patience. Did some parkour with him awhile back and had no issues with my grave incompetence, ha! I think his ability to work hard would be put to great use within the staff team.

ok fair enough, but tbh I'd say that 70% of the mods can't/don't build at all.

So.
I don't know where I'm at in this app. Whether a +1 or a -1. You're a great kid riri, someone fun to fool around with. But there are times when you sometimes take it to far, at least in my messages. And I know, you're just joking around. But staff moderate even low staff at times.
I love your app first off. Its nice and simple, and I was able to read it quickly. Your introduction is nice, and it's nice to know you're helping those who are starting in skyblock. Just shows how helpful you are. Looking at your "Why" section, most of it is true. Criticism is something I will say might be a bit false, just from some talks we've had on meep and discord lul. But its something that can be improved on. Looking at team player, if what Magnoot says is true, I don't think you being one is true. And the section strong work ethic is also questionable, from my experience and others.
Now onto your weakness. And all of them are things I'd agree to see from you. Even as staff, you were still foolish, only a few time. I'm debating whether you'll really change this time or not. It's something that should be worked on, while you're not staff currently.
I do like that you're active on forums and the server itself. You're one of the few only people that are on when staff aren't on, which is a major plus. However, it'd be nice to see you more active on discord, here and there.
I'm just a -/+. You're sketchy at times, but doubt you'll be that bad as staff. If you do get accepted, you'll probably make it to mod. But good luck.

So, forgot to add this to my reply, but you already looked at it so I'll make this an addition to my post. What do you think you can do to contribute to the team? I said this in korp's app but now seeing that here, I don't know how impactful you'll be for staff. Now that I think about it, I think this might change my vote, making me lean more towards a -1.

First of all, activity. I pretty much am available 24/7, and as you said, I am in a great timezone, which lets me moderate in-game while no other staff member, maybe @Kling apart, can.
Offline.
Second is my dedication towards projects.
I’m efficient while working working on one, and most importantly, I work in a swift but yet precise manner, and do my job correctly.
Third is my multitasking ability. Because of my large amounts of time-off, I can work in many different groups but yet keep my work efficient, and give my best to every single one.

I’d look forward to you being on the staff team again, but sometimes you need to stay more on task. That’s something I sometimes struggle with too, so it could be a partner effort.
