    1. Can we stop saying that people don't need to spend so much on what you feel is unimportant? If they spend their money unwisely, then that is their issue. The problem is that people aren't being payed enough to begin with.

    2. Minimum wage should at least bring someone to the government set poverty line. That's at least $10.25.

    3. People can't always choose their job. Most people don't want to be payed so little.

    4. Some teenagers are trying to save for things such as college.

So would taking all of Bill Gate's money and redistributing it to the bottom 2%. This ^ means nothing.
    So?
Clearly you have no idea about how basic reproduction works. Abstinence is 100% preventative.
Nobody is forcing anyone to have a child.
    ...
You didn't even come close to addressing his point.
So... You had a minimum wage job for a while, survived it, and now have a higher paying job?

...If people spend their money unwisely, why should we put a gun to the head of business owners and force them to pay their employees more?
What people want has little relevance in this discussion; I want to make millions of dollars, but that doesn't mean I deserve it.

How about we hold all remittances from America into Mexico (or any foreign country really) and use that money to take care of our people who can't afford to live on minimum wage, our veterans and our citizens?

You don't get what remittances are do you? It's when private citizens/residents send their own money to family in another nation. That isn't your money, or the governments. So how do you propose we take money from private citizens/residents and then spend it on veterans or our country? If that isn't socialism, I don't know what is.

Ah, so above all the illegal immigration on the books, that aren't enforce and don't work - He wants an additional law that isn't enforced/doesn't work?

Enforcing the laws on the books kinda solves that remittance thing, no?

@Deinen thanks for informing me on what a remittance was..... *sigh* no Deinen, what I mean (and didn't say) was if we taxed them. Ya know, the money going out.....

Forgive me, my english is poor. I didn't realize "hold all remittances" meant levy a tax against them.

So you're argument is any / all money being transferred outside the the U.S should have a tax levied on them?

I believe I took full responsibility on the wording of what I said, I do apologize for the misunderstanding. Now, why is it fair to allow Mexicans (and any other immigrant) to come over to America, get money and send it back to their country. Half of them don't pay taxes, they contribute almost nothing back into our country and receive everything.

Half of Mexicans don't pay taxes? Or illegal aliens?

Either way, on both claims you're factually incorrect.

Due to Homeland Security, the opportunity to find a job with a SS# is extremely rare, which leads to a great portion of illegals obtaining a fraudulent SS# to work. This also means they do indeed pay federal income taxes as well as a litany of other local taxes. On top of the tax issue, these people help drive the economy of their locality, paying for housing, gas, food, consumer products, etc.
(Additionally, illegals working and paying taxes under a fraudulent SS# will never be eligible for retirement benefits/SS/disability/etc)

Can you provide any factual evidence that half of illegal aliens pay no taxes and do not contribute?

Back to remittance: You are not being clear on what you mean on immigrant. Is this only illegals, or are you also referring to people who legally immigrate and become residents/citizens? Are you arguing that remittances only to Mexico and other poor nations should be held/taxed, or are you saying that any transfer of money from our country to another country should be taxed?

    I am not incorrect.
1.) working under the table (don't pay taxes)
2.) I think you are misunderstanding when people say they don't pay taxes. Paying in $10,000 a year and recieving $20,000 in government assistance. Is not paying taxes.

Yes, you should be taxed for sending money out of the country. Especially when you are using it towards taking care of people in another country.

Also, if they are using a fraudulent ssn then they shouldn't be here. It's time to go!

Sure, I accept a large portion of illegals pay no/little federal income tax. But this claim is not the same as "paying no taxes" which simply isn't true.

What would be economically beneficial? Include the non-violent illegals into the system/economy so they can pay federal taxes on top of gas tax, sin tax, general sales tax as well as spending money at their gas stations, rent, grocery stores, etc, etc?

Or remove each and every one of them, depressing those local economies and removing the tax flow?

Well to start, we're not deporting all like what, 30 million illegal immigrants. Even if we did. The government isn't just gonna "go through an economic crisis.

So if we're not deporting them - why don't we make them legitimate through public works / military service / STEM education programs so they can further contribute to our economy/nation?

Do they really contribute to the local economies that much? If they are kept in perpetual poverty (because they came here illegally and there sending there money back to there home countries) they are more likely to commit crime, and at the very least there not going to be giving any patronage to anything past maybe some grocery stores and gas stations.

Granting people who come here illegally legal status sets a bad precedent. The reason we have such a rigorous immigration system is so that way we know we are only getting law abiding good people, if we don't put everyone through those tests we will end up with bad people.

Why not just cancel the immigration policy all in all? And just let everyone come if they want to? No back ground check, no nothing. If we're just gonna make all the illegal ones legal?
