Helper Application from Muunkee - Alexia

very dedicated and cares about meep in general

I've been around for years and never had a problem with her. Although issues have occurred in the past I always knew she could do a superb job as staff.

-Can use words
-Plays meepcraft all day
Cons:
-All of my experiences with you have been horrible
-Demoted 2 times from not doing enough work
-Really annoying
-It's impossible for me to trust you
-Lots of attitude
-Never see you talking on ts the past 2 times I've been on

Eyo Muunkee, I'm glad that you've applied! I hope your intentions are good, as many staff promise for change and greatness. But in you I see it actually happening. I do personally see you as very strict, and somewhat ill mannered. But once you get that Helper title over you name that will change right? You have IMO great potential to offer this server than most current staff already.

Pros: Constantly active via the forums 24/7 (no joke, she lives on the forums)
Usually active in game, at least every time I'm online, you're online.
Very to the point, tells people how you feel and how it is. Strong independent woman.

Cons: I can you always being strict, really effecting you in the future. I can see this being used against you, something getting out of hand. You telling people your honest opinions about them isn't always the best way to deal with problems, in most cases it will only make the situation worse. Your attitude can still be brought up, but judging by how you act, you can control it.

All in all, I hope you become staff and help straighten up the current staff team and start making it actually mean something to become a staff member again. I wish you only the best of luck in your application process.

As I write my comment, I am going to debate on what my final vote shall be. Let's make a list, shall we?
All the positives:
+A straightforward and detailed application
+Trustworthy
+I know you're applying for the right reason
+You don't kiss up to people
+Almost too honest
+You're becoming more active on Teamspeak and it makes me happy
+Experienced yet willing to learn
+Very active
Here are my concerns.
-It's obvious that negativity is a problem. In some ways I like this, but it's also an issue. No matter how capable you are of doing modreqs, there will be some that do not trust you with their concerns. On the other hand, I don't expect every staff member to be the fairest of them all. The only thing I ask is to be reasonable. If you can control your anger in a fairly decent manner, then my vote is a +1

Munke I'm sorry I'm giving you a -1 but as of right now its was I feel is necessary. We actually haven't verbally talked much, but based on your responses on the forums and In global, some/most of what your saying always comes off as defensive or intimidating. Although I'm giving you a -1 right now, doesn't mean I wont change my vote. I strongly believe you have the potential to become an amazing helper and with the right traits, further your position in staff.

Huge +1 Muunkee, your always, I literally mean always online on forums and in-game.
Your kind, active, and helpful.
You can be rude sometimes, but with hard work, you can conquer it.

 

The most definite +1 I've ever given.

Muunkee is a very close friend of mine however I will not it influence my vote.

Muunkee is relatively straight forward. This can come off as a mean or disinterested, however it's just in Muunkee's nature. Her intentions are not to harm but to be professional. She has an uncanny ability to be unbiased in her work. Muunkee is efficient and gets to the point.

While she is not the most social person, when she is on teamspeak she is usually afk. Even if she is ignoring people, many staff members don't even go on teamspeak and I don't see why many people are bashing her for such.

As far as her attitude, I'm not going to try and speak on her behalf, however I do want it to be known that she has told me that this position is of utmost importance to her. I can find someone more dedicated to MeepCraft than Muunkee. She has been a big part of MeepCraft for awhile now, she knows the ropes better than many of the staff now.

Muunkee is relatively calm, to me she does not come off as opinionated so much as quick to correct someone. I don't see Muunkee very commonly displaying acts of aggression or simply trying to be mean. Even if she did, I feel that it would be inadvertent. Although not everyone might like the way she puts things, she is always truthful.

Even when we weren't friends, Muunkee helped me greatly. When I was first applying for helper she was the only one who cared enough to give me constructive criticism. While everyone else just said the same thing (not that I don't appreciate it), Muunkee gave me something to work on, something to make me a more qualified and ultimately better person.

Summary:

While Muunkee is often regarded as harsh or rude, I consider her intentions to be pure. Whilst people cannot take the way she states it. Muunkee is over-qualified to say the least. I hope to see her on the staff team soon. +1

 

So I need to comment on this

There's almost no criticism. How is she mean etc. She gives very good criticism and is very nice if you get to know her. While she isn't very social, I've talked to her on many occasions and shes nice! But that might be bias. Anyways her comments may be harsh but that's brutal honesty. And that's exactly what we need on the staff team. @Muunkee - Alexia you are exactly what meep needs. Ty for listening to me!!!

 

I really appreciate your tendency for blunt honesty. In many ways we share this characteristic: we don't mince words, and we say it how it is (please don't compare me to Donald Trump; I will cry). I do think you need to work on this attitude before you get staff, as many times you'll be forced to deal with situations that require more minced words, if you will. Nevertheless, your straightforwardness is something sorely lacking on the staff team.

One thing I find a bit concerning about you is your lack of forward vision. For example, many times on suggestion threads, you state something like "-1 not needed, there's ____ way to get around this." Or when people state that meepcraft gets boring to them and suggest new content, you respond by saying "there's already tons of stuff around, look: I can make a list of 100 things to do on Meepcraft." Basically, my point is that you seem to be somewhat indifferent about the progress of the server. From what I can see, you don't really support returning the server and its policies to those of Old Meep, but at the same time you don't really advocate the introduction of new content. While this isn't really something I would deem necessary to perform the necessary duties of a helper, I definitely believe that you need to work on this before rising the ranks of staff.

All in all, you're helpful in shout, active on forums, and from what I hear, TS. Your straightforwardness is to be respected; however, I haven't seen you demonstrate that you know exactly when to be a bit more subtle with your words.

Also, while I have every reason to believe that you've matured, your record on the staff team isn't exactly stellar. I don't think you'll abuse the power you've been given, or mess up like you have in the past. However, your previous run left a bad taste in many peoples' mouths, similar to Bob4444444.

I don't see why most of the -1's on this app bashed Muunkee for being too harsh. Being harsh is a good thing, it means you are brutally honest to say exactly whats on your mind. Harsh people get things done, while people who try to be as nice as possible try dancing around issues instead of attacking them head on. I'd know, I'm the nice guy.

I give a +1 because I can see you as a great staff member who can benefit the team, ill leave it like that. You're experienced, honest, and for the time being, positive both in game and out of game.

At the end of the review period the majority decision was not to accept you as a member of the staff team at this time. I have seen a difference in you in the recent past that shows vast improvements and I hope that you continue in this direction.

As you mentioned in your application the attitude at that time was not pretty. I think your word for that time was “terrible”. You also mentioned part of it was due to irl issues and I want to say personally that saying that and being as honest as you were is a big step towards healing or fixing those issues and I wish you nothing but success in getting past those tough times.

Sometimes even when we make a decision to change and to move in a positive direction the past still comes up and is remembered over the change. I ask you to keep moving forward and with doing that and with showing people that actions speak loader than words. You will prove to everyone and especially yourself that you are a great person nothing can stand in your way.
