Player 1 gets banned for 6 hours.
    Player 1 is innocent.
Player 1 has no life and spends all their time on Meep
    Player 1 cannot appeal
Player 1 now has nothing to do for 6 hours, for a ban that they didn't deserve.
Player 1 had wanted to apply for helper but now he can't; everyone thinks he stole player 2's diamonds.
Player 1 has an unfair ban on their record forever.

    Suggestion: Remove the rule.

If you don't have a life, get one. 6 hours isn't a big deal. Do something productive. But +1 because making it unappealable is stupid.

It's unethical to deny an appeal for an innocent act, no matter 1 minute or 7 days

It was an extreme example, player 1 is unable to get a life.

I agree with Killer. 6 hour bans should be appealable, but if you can't go without Meepcraft for 6 hours, GO GET A LIFE! There is more to this world than sitting on your computer rotting away.

The only things below 6 hours that are banned for are chat offenses.
    Mistakes here are extremely unlikely.

Exactly, anything under 6 hours is a very minor offense in most situations; nothing worthy of ruining a chance at helper

So, you're saying that on the odd occassion that it is a mistake it doesn't matter?

I'm saying, in two years, I've literally NEVER seen that mistake happen.
Not as staff, not as a citizen, never seen an appeal for it, nothing.
How the hell is there a mistake in that issue? If I curse in shout, I cursed in shout, it doesn't matter if I typo'd /r or not, I'm getting that ban
I don't see the issue here...

There could be other things going wrong. Staff member banning the wrong person, a newer staff member unfairly banning, a mis interpreted sex ref... These are all what-if's, but I just don't see the problem in removing the rule, it can't do any bad, it can do good.

For the first one, if a staff member manages to ban someone wrong, and report it, and still not notice, that person needs to be demoted, same with the other example and it'd be taken care of accordingly.

I have seen bans under 6 hours accepted. The rule ain't that strict, it's more like a slap on the wrist, you said something stupid, you get to go in a time out. If it's unfair it will be accepted.

Appealing for a 6 hour ban is a pure waste of time for staff. You can play another server, game, or just wait the next day for the ban to pass.
    Not a big deal.

That's not the point here, the point here is that if Player 1 got banned unfairly, why can't he get unbanned or it is unappealable. If that guy literally just plays MeepCraft then he isn't used to other servers. Just, please read the concept n00b has given instead of joining the bandwagon.

    +1

I wouldn't really say that especially if the banned player has been falsely banned. I'm pretty sure you've seen some ban appeals that were left off where staff only replied after the ban expired. Some of those appeals were worth considering and possibly may got accepted. That's a valuable play time for the player being wasted. Time that the player will use to enjoy the server.

I understand that. I'm just stating my reason and I've already seen the other posts above, and I've already seen n00b's example about it.
I'm only stating for players who weren't banned unfairly.

Let me tell you a story:

On our way to new hampshire for a camping trip, my father got pulled over for speeding, and was issued a 500$ ticket. The ticket was wrong, so later that month he went to a court hearing and got the ticket appealed, however he had to pay 20$. Why should he have to pay to prove his own innocence. Why is there a price to pay even though he didn't do anything wrong?

This was already changed when I was in staff, with the thinking; if a staff can issue the ban, they have answer the appeal.
