When I was helper, I was frequently reprimanded for skipping modreqs. However, modreqs that I skipped were predominately ones filed by players who had logged off. For example, if Metr0n0me files a modreq "Help! XXXX happened and I lost XXXX!" and immediately logs off, and then Jalapenos files a modreq saying "Help! How do I add a friend?" and there's only one staff member on, the first modreq (by chronological order) would be prioritized. However, since the first modreq-person logged off, there's no need to solve the modreq quickly at all. Implementing this suggestion would decrease modreq wait times substantially.

from what i recall, when someone was offline you just shot them a quick mail saying to contact you / other staff when they're back online..the mail should only take a few minutes at the absolute most and that's even pushing it lol

This is true, but if there's something that you can investigate without them being online (such as a glitch detailed in the modreq, etc).

if someone goes offline after filing a modreq, there should be a mail sent and a /done.
    It takes like 30 seconds.

/mail send playername Hello, please file another modreq when you come back on!
/done xx player offline, /mail sent

    not hard.

if this happens, why shouldn't that one be done first? first come first serve.

This was only ever a problem when people would intentionally skip them because they didn't want to do the work.

For example if I filed a modreq saying someone stole tons of stuff from me and the next modreq was how do I get to wild and I claimed the easy one then let the other staff get the non-fun one.

Youve always been allowed to jump for that reason. As long as thats the reason.

    Incorrect

at least this wording of it is. If this is a rule, it's relatively new, considered it wasn't instilled when I was a helper (which, long as it seems, wasn't very long ago)

When I was staff, both times, you would never, ever, EVER skip a modreq. The only exception was when it required a higher rank, like a mod to force TP, or if 2 modreqs were linked, like 2 players claiming harassment or whatever upon each other(and that was the only exception for when you claimed 2 at once, as well).
Then again, I was staff a year ago. Then again, that still means it hasn't been 'always.'

No I promise. Now if theirs 5 modreqs and 2 are off, you can ether skip the offline and say "im getting to online people faster". If thats the reason no one cares. Or claim 2 and send 1 mail while you handle the other.

Been doin it for like 6 months.

Perfect idea, it's the way it should be.

    2 queues.

    1 online
    1 offline

You do online first, first come first serve, when done, do offline.

(I think he means this should be systematically taught from the get-go, and standardized)

I would just like to state this to the community: When filing a modreq please be as specific as possible, so that we can help even if you are offline/afk. Writing 'help' then logging off only gets you a /mail saying to contact myself or file another req. But if you put 'help my Beta plots in (town name) have been griefed' then we have a lot more to work with. Usually I try to resolve the problem when players are offline but it's difficult to do when we don't get adequate info.

And generally we hate you when you file a modreq saying "HELP! COME HERE QUICK!"

I was reprimanded a couple of times (not by you) for doing this, and apparently it was one of the demotions reasons.

Please please please do not say, "Um so this happened." and then that's that. Even if you plan on staying online, at least give some information on what the issues is.
