If iron was cheaper on meep/everyone had a crap ton of empty buckets and storage space I would say we could have a stupidly large group of people to empty the nether of a ton of lava and have the lava buckets turned into obsidian (which would crash that market), or have a bunch of semi auto smelters to use up the lava that way.
Hell, (that pun was punitentional...I'll be over here in the shame corner now) if we REALLY wanted to turn that stupid amount of lava into obby and have it mined I could set up a big facility just for converting the lava from buckets into obby then mining it.

    TL DR
If for some inane reason the nether doesn't get reset I will organize a big group to remove a lot of lava from the nether in protest, just to make sure that there is nothing in the nether left to get.

Also I am very pro 2 month reset as it's long enough for people to set up whatever and not worry about it getting reset that soon, while short enough that it gives people the resources they need without hurting the eco.

+1 just reset it when it's gone again, so maybe once a year maybe only 3 months?

I will admit one thing.... It would be freakin awesome if we could claim land in the nether. imagine if there were actual towns in the towny nethers.

That was suggested and denied before :/

Anyways, I do not really care about the Nether resetting. It does not take more than 5 minutes to get to an untouched part, as it is infinite... but it sure would be convenient not to have to travel every time and have a fresh Nether once in a while. - aka - voted for 2 months.

I vote two-three months. Or in the least when ever the wild is reset. Reset the nether too. Since my old suggestion to reset the wild is under consideration anyways.

Dear people saying "don't worry the towny nether being infinite", bite me.
Both towny Alpha and Beta are limited to what I believe is a 5kx5k area, so you can say it's infinite all you want, but the reasonably acessible parts are quickly becoming rediculous to get to. Think about it in terms of this badly made algebra problem. X = towny nether that is decently accessible Y = decent amount of resources in towny nether Z = harder to get to towny nether ie 500+ blocks away A = people happy about towny nether
This is what meep has currently
X-Y-A but Z =+3Y there are near infinite things to harvest in towny nether, but only if you can cover a very large distance and not have the crap scared out of you with lava etc on the way there. Also the lack of resources easily accessible is killing the economy. And upsetting people because unless you have the time to travel over a lot of lava etc just to have the possibility of finding even one nether resource.

Yeah, because ults can then find thousands of spawners periodically.

Yes... But the problem is... Having to travel through these overly mined out areas in the nether is increcibly dangeous. That is one thing most Ults dont seem to understand. Not everybody can just fly though it all. Personaly... I just travel at the ground levels to the nether. Nobody ever thinks to go down that deep.

The issue with reseting the wild/nether is the massive influx of items into the economy that comes with it. Making the nether look pretty isn't worth the economic damage. I say they reset once a year or something like that.

So remove the spawners.. I think some mob-spawning variables is off anyways because there are no ghasts just have a staff member find the wb coords and set all the mobspawner blocks to air using //set x y z x2 y2 x2 spawner_id air

This I can agree with. There are hardly any mobs in the nethers. I am not sure why either. I need ghast tears. But for the love of me. Having to walk 40 miles just for one ghast who should be a common mob in the nether is kinda bad.

And magma cubes, don't forget those. The spawn rate for anything is rediculously low. It makes no sense for anything other than pigmen.

As for the blaze spawner thing, just change the spawning algorithim or whatever to have it spawn them at half or even a third of the time they would normally be spawned. This allows for more spawners to come into play without killing the eco as much.

As for people complaining about resetting the nether hurting the economy think of the nether like a well with water in it. The well is currently bone dry with hardly anything left for anyone now, but if it gets refilled everyone is going to drink because they were so thirsty for water for so damn long.

Personally I've found a safe way to traverse those lava lakes without building anything on them. I just tunnel under them anyways. Its also the fastest way to travel. Bugs bunny style. Sprint while tunneling a 1x2 block tall tunnel. Anything below level 10 and above level 5 will be guaranteed Bedrock free. And mostly lava free. You'll still hit the odd block of lava. But with all the nether rack you gathered. Just plug it. Or dam it and tunnel around it. Just listen for the little sneaky lava blocks. And mine at the blocks when they are atleast 2 blocks away for you to give you time to react.

It was stated by deinen and some other staff ages ago that the world are limited by that much as there is an invisible border around the 6kx6k border. It was something around that size.

I should really stop posting when I'm tired.

What I meant to say was that magma cubes also have a stupidly low spawn rate in addition to ghasts.

And I meant to say that if people were that worried about the massive amount of blaze spawners that would appear. They should just change the amount of blaze spawners that appear down to a third or even a fourth of what they would normally be.
