Here's the story;

Once upon a time, I logged onto meepcraft and came up with a brilliant idea.

Shortly after, I came to Castro's luxurious estate and came across his armor stands with beautiful sparkling diamond and chain armor.

My mind is always working, always creating ideas to have fun.

Someone who I am closely friends with in meep, was the one I had chosen to do my fun event against.
Minutes later, I call in Max to support my mission; we suddenly dupe armor stands into chest. Took quite a while since we had to craft everyone by hand; as we racked up our inventory back home with the precious stands we set out on our mission.

*teleports to /pwarp shops*

Diana was off doing something around her town, it was time to cause a party.

Within minutes 100's and 100's of armor stands were set within the estate.

*/shout Party @ /pwarp shops* was sent

Multiple, I mean multiple people came rushing into a blob of armor stands where they came in contact with free armor stands; if they released they could destroy em' too.

I thrilled many with free items, made their days, made them happy for the holidays.

But the only one who wasn't happy was the grinch.

The grinch shortly came running down his/her stairs and was screaming their keyboard at me and my partner in crime.

Cleaning up is a chore, which takes a old man long.
I started cleaning with my partner, but slowly because it was a tough task.

Castro, which many may now know all of a sudden comes from a chest.
Whips of his hammer and bans my partner.

But within minutes the whole place was basically clear.

*Grinch is everything cleared*

*Yes, it's gone*

The grinch was happy with how it was resolved and so was us, Johnsey and Max.

*minutes pass*
*seconds pass*
*almost a month pass*


Then something hits me; it was heavy and made my screen disappear from meep.

I was banned.


This is unjustice to the rules of Meep.

I would appreciate to be unbanned and etc.

Would of been too much work; there's probably a ton of mistakes at the current moment.

Why would I put that much work into meep for a post?

If it would of been too much work anyways.

 

But you neglect to understand that you did indeed grief. If we were to change the situation around, and I had a group together, and we decided to have fun by egging someone's town. Regardless if 25 people enjoyed it and had a good time, it neglected the person who was actually affected by this. This situation would no doubt anger many people on the server, regardless if you left the chickens, or made sure to clean them up.

 

Indeed, it was a joke/prank on friend.

There is no rule against what we did currently.


Until after we did the mission you guys came out with the updated rule.

I did grief, but you guys seem to be too old to understand 'fun'.

It's still legal to complete my mission against a friend.

 

But what is fun to you isn't necessarily fun to others. The fact you are banned now means the owner of the area didn't necessarily find it fun either, and in this situation, she is the judge of what is fun.

I got validation that it was all gone from the owner of the plot.

Where's validation that the owner of the plot doesn't want me unbanned; I would like a response from her or I should get unbanned.

I pleased the owner of the plot by doing what is told.

 

You can only be banned for griefing if the plot owner reports it.

Here are the griefing rules:

You may not alter any building, plot, or town that does not belong to you without consent. The alterations include but are not limited to:

• Placing or destroying blocks
• Taking items from any container
• Placing or dropping any unwanted items in hoppers
• Spawning unwanted animals or mobs
• Claiming a plot without the consent of the mayor (Unless otherwise stated in the town rules)
• Using your Mayor or Assistant powers to commit any crime
• Breaking blocks on your plot, making it look unpleasant before leaving the town

If you decide to leave a town and/or the server, you must leave your plot the way you received it unless you receive the consent of the mayor to do otherwise.

Placing the armour stands breaks the rule stated here. Also, the announcement in shout was saying that the bug is fixed, not that there is a rule update.

 

Johnsey, to start I just have a couple questions before we can make a decision.

1. As you have just stated

and as you do know griefing has always and will always be against the rules. So what is different about this situation that justifies the griefing?

2. You were a staff member in the past and as you know sometimes when a situation arises that needs to be dealt with we sometimes follow up with a new rule. In this case it seems that this situation lead to the need for a new rule. Therefor I'm wondering if you are debating that the ban is unjust because the rule was created prior to this or because the rule isn't fair?

Once again; It was a joke/prank; I pleased the needs to the owner of the plot.

I shouldn't be banned at all; I did everything asked so I wouldn't get banned.

 

just for the record a new rule was not made! He was given a tempban for 1d for "Minor Towny Grief" (Old Rule not New Rule) when asked over and over to remove them and clean them up and he replied "Nahh" "its pretty" "I like it" and "it makes your place look awesome" to each request to remove them.

The image that a few have posted that's says "Armor Stands can not be placed in towns unless residents or friends" is not a new rule, it was a broadcast letting members of the community know that I corrected the glitch in the Towny plugin they used which allowed them to place the armor stands in a town they are not in!

 

You are correct, but I pleased the owners needs to NOT be banned.
So why all of a sudden am I banned.

I would never do what I did to a random person, I did it to a friend and didn't think they would of taken it like they did.

I was joking around, which wasn't taken the right way.

Within minutes all the armor stands were gone. How did they go away without me/others clean them up?
I did what I was asked.

People need to loosen up, it didn't hurt anyone.

Simple commands could solve it, which one had.

Instead everything was taken way differently.

Anyways, once again I pleased the needs to NOT be banned.

Additonally to add onto regales.

Greifing shouldn't happen, perms should be set up correctly so grieving literally can't happen.
People knew about this glitch/bug and should of been fixed right away instead of putting it off.

 

Bug exploiting what? Nothing is exploited to my game advantage.

1. This was not a perm set incorrectly
2. I found out about the glitch after looking into your appeal
3. It is not corrected!

1. Incorrect again!
2. It is a glitch in the Towny Plugin in relation to a specific 1.8 item.

 

People have talked about the glitch or whatever before hand, was 1.8 not done/tested right. Yes it wasn't apparently.

Glitch > Configs > Plugins > Relations it's still fixable with correct percaustions

 

Thank you for the great tech advice! I can see why you are such a valued tech. We never thought to check every minecraft items in Towns with members from other towns! When MineCraft 1.9 arrives, I will be sure to check! I will actually call it the JohnseyCheck in your honor!

 

I love a good prank also, but when asked to fix it and to reply with "Nahh" that is no longer a prank.
