Some 1.8 Bugs

Some of the bugs I noticed on Skyblock since the 1.8.


Villager breading on SB

The Villager baby grows up immediately after being born. I'm not sure if the new Villagers is born grown up or there is a second where he actually is a baby and the time setting are off.


Sign placement on signs

Horizontal placement of a sign anchored on another sign is only possible if you press another action button(example A, S, D, W or crouch) while placing.


Sticky pistons not sticking

Sticky pistons seam to not always retract the block. Maybe dependant on if the player is in the loading distance of the piston at the time of action.

Did some testing with the sticky piston.

• problem noticed on a melon farm build that worked 100% in previous versions (1.7.10)

• since the last meepcraft transfer to 1.8 sticky pistons don't always retract the block
  

Tested on Skyblock Meepcraft:

• the distance of the player to the contraption does not matter (powering the piston by manually placing a melon still led to occasional failure to retract)
  

Tested on Creative Meepcraft ID -76;-62:

• same contraption – same problem
  

Tested on Singleplayer 1.8 World:

• same contraption – NO problem, retracting every time
  

Conclusion: Meepcraft settings are off

 

i found 1 bug.
Depth strider is broken on skyblock. i keep teleporting wwhile usin it. if its moviing ater or not. i keep on teleporting.

 

Sticky pistion sticking has been disabled currently.
I will look into the other two now.

If sticking has been disabled why do they stick from time to time?

 

I haven't looked into it much but I believe they are not disabled in the wild.

 

but why? it doesnt make any sense still... a lot of farms and other fun things require sticky pistions..
my mob grinder is one of those...

 

I don't think it is disabled at all.

My Goldfarm works just fine on sticky pistons (the signal is long).

But the Mellonfarm is working on short signal when the Mellon block grows up and is destroyed right after that. The problem is that on original 1.8 that signal should be enough for the block to stay stuck.


As EnderGaming24 said, Skyblock without sticky pistons is 20% less fun.

 

Change the 20% to 35%

 

Sorry I was talking about Towny. I am not sure about the status of this in Skyblock.

The new Villager is born adult, so its not the speed of growing up.

 

Depth Striding has been fixed. Is there any more current issues from this report?

 

Slimeblocks dont prevent fall damage. they act like bricks... and sticky pistons act weird. ill look if the pistons are still acting strange.

Edit: Sticky pistons seem to be acting ok now.
