Towns A Plot Glitch

People get kicked from towns if they can not pay taxes but for some reason they are not a part of town but still own a plot as if they were never kicked. The weirdest thing is the town mayor or co-mayor can not put the plot for sale or unclaim it for them it gives us "[Towny] Selected area is not a part of your town." and it also collects taxes from the player that owns the plot so we are collecting taxes from players that are not in our town and can not do anything with the plot commands. The only thing that dose work on the plot is building or destroying but we can not use towny commands on it.

 

This happens to me a lot, the resident gets kicked for not having enough money to pay for their plot. All you need to do is /plot claim while standing on the plot and that gives the ownership of the plot to the town. And from there you can do whatever you want with the plot.

 

Tried it still says it is owned by the kicked player and i can't do anything with the plot. I will ask the mayor to try it once he gets on. (I am only co-mayor)

 

Ahhhh I think it might be /t claim, try that. I got my commands mixed up(I think)

That happened to me. I left my town to make a new one, but the plot I owned never got unclaimed. I was lucky too: I left my heads there.

 

Try to do /plot perm to see who the plot belongs to. Then if it belongs to the town rename it too like Unowned of something where you would know its a town plot.(incase u don't know /plot set name (name)) hope that helps

This Glitch could have the possibility of being exploited
1.) Setting the Plot for 100k
2.) Derpy Town Mayor #1 comes by and buys the Plot
3.) Person that owned the plot gets the 100k :/

I recently had an Ex-Resident try to pull this on me. Please don't get fooled and buy a stupid expensive Plot thinking that it will just go back into the Bank

 

okay. This is a very annoying glitch. I happened to me in Beta.
I had someone leave my town & it kept their plots. Thankfully they rejoined the town & can unclaim them now if he wants. The only slution I know of this is the 1)have them re-join & unclaim or 2) /t unclaim & delete the plot & reclaim it. **Remember unclaiming it will cause it to regenerate back to the wild plot & delete everything on it**

 

Can we /plot claim ( as a mayor) In alpha or beta if they leave the town. therefore taking the plot, even though I didn't give the person a warning? Since he/she left?

 

We had an issue with this with Noblefish_ He left a town & 15 days later.. He STILL had a plot with items & everything. The mayor wanted it re-claimed for him. But he couldn't. We HE'd it & saw he has a new town & how long ago he left the town & said it was safe to take the items since he DID leave on his own.
SO I would say, If they left the town yes. But if it was a tax kick. I would wait & talk to them. I dont think you can do /plot claim as mayor anyway. I don't think there is ANY way around it other then /t unclaim & /t claim

 

Yeah, you can /plot claim, and it will say 'YOUR TOWN NAME bought THE PLOT OWNER'S NAME for 0.0 meebles!''

What if they put it up for 100k??

 

then the money goes right back into your town, I think. if they left the town with /t leave or because of tax, though, it will go up automatically for sale for 0.

 

The resident that I had put up his plot for 100k when i went to buy it it said not enough Money in Town bank

Or for sale for the set price you made it (like in lakewood i think plots sell for 10000000000 when theyre empty to keep people from buying/raiding. If they do /t leave they cant do /plot fs __ anymore. I tried to get the person in my town to FS it for 0 so i could buy it.

 

no you need the mayor to go over it and to /plot claim
