Denied Why Was I Banned?

I don't understand why I was temporarily banned for something I didn't do. I was doing a chore when my brother got on my account and played for a bit. He didn't even have permission. All I understand of this is someone named iRage something or other (someone I personally do not know). My brother said he bet around 100k on something, and it came out, so he won a large chunk of money. I didn't know that person had not payed the attendant. I was just doing some cat feeding and cat litter, then I come back to bluecarneal saying I conspired to scam and slander. My brother only told me that iRage was being scammed, and that's all I got. Why would I do something stupid if I have spent money on the server?

I do not know the conditions of your ban, however I do know that we hold you accountable for your account's actions, regardless of the person pressing the keys. After all, how are we to know you are you and not your brother right now? A few more lines of speech and we have zero idea how much of what is said is truth, so we rely on evidence, and evidence implicates account names, not social security numbers.

This why Minecraft accounts have passwords.

 

I think that this is weird because this, to me, is like saying, that say someone was killed. They had a husband and two kids. Since they live in that house, the children and husband are instantly accused of murder. This does not seem fair, at least to me. Again, I bring up the point that I spent money on Meepcraft. Since I have done so, why would I do something stupid that would get me banned? I enjoy playing Meepcraft to do something like that.

 

This argument is used a lot. Let me explain why it doesn't help.

The entirety of Meepcraft's relationship with you is through your account. The staff here doesn't know the *real* you; they only know your account. When your account does something bad, your account is restricted from playing on the server.

It doesn't matter who was sitting at the keyboard. No one is sending the police to pick that person up. There are no real life consequences to your real life self. It isn't about you or your brother. Your account did the crime, so your account was banned. Anything else would be impossible for server staff to enforce.

Does that help to explain why the "my brother did it" argument doesn't get you unbanned?

 

You are responsible for who uses your account. I will have to deny this.
