Vshop Conformation

Hello, bobius here.

Due to some unfortunate events that have occured recently, I have decided to make this post.

When you buy on vshop I feel there should be a conformation because I was unaware that the price you type in is per item. This caused me to spend a lot more money than I had planned. I feel that the conformation should ask you if you are sure you want to buy the item and it should say how much money you're actually paying. If I'm doing a cruddy job explaining, here is an example.

Say diamonds cost 100 each.

Say you do /buy 64 diamond 100.

You end up spending 6,400 which is probably more than you wanted to spend.

Now what I propose is this:

Say you do /buy 64 diamond 100.

A message pops up saying: Are you sure you want to spend 6,400 meebles? (yes) (no)

I understand this may not be able to be added into the game because it is a plugin and I assume you did not create the plugin so can not edit it, but I just want my opinions to be heard.

I do not think this is such a big problem. You may make a mistake once and maybe twice but after that you will learn.

 

all you gotta do is /find (itemname), then /buy (itemname) (maxprice).

It literally takes 5 more seconds to do /find (itemname) before you buy it.

The reason we have the (maxprice) portion is to prevent situations like this. It's unfortunate that you got shafted, but there are measures in place to protect against this.

 

I think this would be a great idea, especially for new players and players not familiar with v-shop. +1

 

but... did you really think someone would sell 64 diamonds for 100 total meebles?

if anything the suggestion should be for clarification when you do the /help thing not make the commands even more clunky for those that use their head

 

I do agree that a clarification would be better somewhere in the tutorial or in /help than having a confirmation every time, but your suggestion to "use your head" is not very helpful to new players, who do not know the size of the economy and how much things should cost.

 

they added the max item price you want to pay to prevent this. most of the time people sell in bulk, and it's idiotic to believe they'd sell 200000 stone for .05 meebles. you just have to read.

 

Would be very helpful because when it says "max price" i put in 1k and end up spending like 7k

 

Why should the vshop conform to your demands

 

how do you mistype /buy 64 diamond 100
this would be like /chest cooldown, it sounds super great but it'd just be a pain. -1

 

Yeah, thats kinda a bad example to use, buying 64 diamonds for 100 meebles each in vshop would be a dream

But even so, anything you buy, and set a meeble limit, say /buy 16 cookedporkchop 100, you always get the lowest sell price first.
Say the prices in shop for cooked porkchops are 10, 25, 50, 100, and 1000. You'll always get the ones that are 10 meebles first, and if it runs out, then it buys also the ones selling for 25 meebles

I don't think theres any need for this. Yeah, maybe it'd be useful for new players, but its not necessary at all. There's always global chat to ask about it, or just go to a chest shop pwarp. Plus, I don't think most new players would go to vshop first, and would instead look at wild.

I understand how this could be useful for new players, but (as FamousZAmos said) it seems like the sort if thing that could get pretty annoying and inconvenient fast. Especially for those of us that operate a lot of our business on vShop.
