    Upgrade the New Player Tutorial!

Instead of the dozen of signs people are forece to read and the 5 questions they don't even have to read and can randomly enter until they know the way out, lets make it so when a "new player" logs onto the server for the first time they are forced to watch a 60 Second Meepcraft video that easily explains the main aspects of meepcraft like: Towny, Economy, Minigames and then you can also have several other more indepth 30-90 second videos that automatically play when they first enter Towny, Minigames Server, /warp shop, or ANYWHERE you want really. This videos can be all put on the Meepcraft website for out of game viewing as well, but the key feature is to allow them to play INGAME like in a popup window when you open a chest instead of invenotry items it plays a short video!

+1 As long as it plays at a low resolution. Many users are not like you and I with gaming desktops. Many users are playing MC on 3-4 year old laptops and desktops. Those systems may lag or even crash minecraft altogether if we put a high resolution video in spawn, not to mention the immense lag a high resolution video would cause if it had to be loaded every 10 seconds in spawn.

EDIT: As long as it loads from an external source such as YouTube, it shouldn't cause server lag. I would make sure that the player has a chocie to play the video as autoplaying the videos may cause users with older machines to lag out Minecraft.

Yeah, I was not talking about HiRes HD 4K visions stuff here just Standard 480i like decent quality stuff as to not look like crap, but get a SIMPLE message across that is other wise lost because they don't read signs but will probably watch a 30 second video!
If they can watch crap on youtube then it should not crash their computer. Also if done correctly it should not lag that server at all! the Videos could be directly streamed from youtube or on a "file server" if not on youtube so it would be between their computer and the video not the actual meempcraft servers.

Yeah i make some "sample" videos in the next day or two so people know what im talking about and post them here, and it should be easy enough to use the menu like when opening a chest access items from a database so instead just access the videofile and plays it automatically.

Most computers can run YouTube on it's own, but it's the problem with running Adobe Flash Player and Minecraft at the same time. Older computers have weak cpus, and Minecraft and Adobe Flash are cpu-intensive applications. Running these at the same time could cause an old Pentium 4 or Athlon x64 to stop in it's tracks. What I'm trying to get at is that the implementation must cause the least amount of resource usage for the end user.

What these still exist? Anyways, yeah i mean at a minimum if video for whatever reason is too "intensive" we could also probably do something like a "slide show with audio" maybe?

That would probably work a lot better. And it wouldn't require Flash to be installed on the user's machine.

    In the works.

Will be working on How-To videos to include in the new /guide. Most likely youtube links.

Moving this to denied. Fuzzlr is working on a separate system to solve this issue.
