Town Costs

    Make the cost of creating a town rise as there are more towns in game. However, there needs to be a max cap at what a town can cost based on the amount of active players on the server. This would encourage users to actually join towns created instead of attempting to own their own.

    Towny Price: 150,000

    Towny Upkeep: 1,000

    Nation Price: 2,500,000

    Nation Upkeep: 10,000

    I mean I would increase towny upkeep a bit, unless there is a custom way to increase it more than default when more plots are added. Mainly because 150k won't be too hard to come by and people will just have their own private towns (can't prevent that completely) but it should be something discouraged.

    The way reggles put it to me was that costs with jobs are if we make towns 250k you'll need to break 250k dirt to have that much for a town. The way jobs are set up you guys will be impressed I ask that you guys trust us! :)

    Well without /fix (if it is in maybe limit it to one use on the item idk) it would be pretty hard to do that so that's good news jobs are getting a nerf. That being said, does it go up eventually or does it just get capped at 1 meeble per dirt? I know this is a different topic though.

    I would assume its a 1k upkeep cost per plot. Or maybe its 1k base and then x for every plot?

    Is this all you've decided on?

    What about plot price + the increase in upkeep? (If there isn't an increased upkeep for additional plots, you're going to have some extremely large towns.)

    Nation upkeep for additional towns that join?

    That flat upkeep rate is going to be redundant compared to the price of a start up of a town. I'm sure people will find exploits to gain money quickly. In this case, you obviously don't want 100 towns if your playerbase is 300. Towns need to be more expensive as more are created to prevent the issue previously where everyone wants to own and run their town, but then realize it's a money sink without players to join it.

    I agree.... 150k for a town really isn't all that much even if it was all taken from one person. Its not really like its 150k for a sole player either, some people combine their money to get a town (I'll be doing it with my brother) so its really in the 75k range for people that are partnered.

    Guys we can be positive that they are going to make nations stronger and more useful. That's why we see the increase in nation prices and not towns. I don't know about the upkeep aspect but if they want to hide it, then we shouldn't crack open their shell. What is important is the things that haven't been decided already.

    Ye I don't understand this 1000 upkeep either. If it was per plot that is just ridiculous. 1000 meebles per plot would be just stupid and unrealistic. Probably 1000 per plot to claim with a small amount per day for upkeep, just how outpost worked. In order to claim an outpost you had to pay 3000 meebles for the one plot, and 100 meebles for any plot connected to the outpost one.

    Yeah, I think the "1000 upkeep" just means that when you start the town, you start with a $1000 upkeep. This is probably to limit like 1-2 person towns because you'd be losing much more money, rather than starting with 25 upkeep (with 1 plot).
