+over 9000, started playing again this week, haven't even touched the minigames. I say keep 1, boomo or something. For community held events.

 

You just need to keep the event world with musical chairs and such for that type of thing. Down with the rest!

 

Take off anything related to Eco too.

 

You know summers we can have an economy without it being a completely utopian free market, just look at what the real world uses.

 

This isn't the real world or we would have a Mariage plug in. This is a socialist Eco with 95% of prices controlled by high staff. Any successful game with an Eco lets it's players decide what something is worth and caps limited items.

 

Leave the mini games, just don't repair them

IMO keep halo, and maybe boomo. these are by far the 2 most used. also keep kitpvp for the pvpers? just remove /duel that thing sucks. basically, skin down the minigames so they don't require maintenance, don't obsess over events. and work on fixing/developing towny and stuff.

 

Now that we have them, there's no point in getting rid of them and they might as well stay. I support not adding any new minigames, though.

 

Kitpvp isn't a minigame
And halo is only used when someone advertises it.

We were indeed huge. I know I remember you from at least 2013, if not earlier. But I think we all have to face the fact that the Minecraft community has decreased severely in age as the more mature players hang up their pickaxes for the final time. If the EULA hadn't hit us so hard, we would still be looking to grow. It's like the fall of the Byzantine Empire; it didn't happen fast, but it was somewhat clear that there were issues (can someone explain that analogy a bit more for me?).

Either way, you've seen Minecraft servers like Mineplex watch their player count drop literally 40,000 players. It's a miracle that our server, which barely has anything original that people play (I personally like Boomo, but nobody plays it), has survived for as long as it has. At this point, I'm still interested in seeing what happens. I can't see a rebound happening unless we drastically change the model of the server and bring in a gigantic refresh. That, however, goes against the meaning of the server when it was founded; to be the best Towny server.

Others, along with myself, have said it; little children (who are the majority of the Minecraft community) are not willing to work for things. Today, I logged in and saw Snowboardtiger constantly spamming and begging for 1k Meebles, which is barely anything to earn. These are the kinds of people that make up the community, so if we want donations from parents' swiped credit cards, we must adjust accordingly and become a minigame server.

Tough choice, innit?

 

If we try to become a minigame server WE WILL FAIL. We cannot beat servers like Mineplex and Hypixel in that area. Towny needs to be our main appeal, and if we have a hard time drawing players with that then so be it. If we convert to a mainly minigame server I think we would draw fewer players than we otherwise would. Think about it, if you're looking for a minigame server, you would go to one of the 100 minigame servers larger than us, whereas if you're looking for a towny server, you might give us a chance. No one would play the minigames, the server would seem more desolate than it already does, and the decline of towny would cause us to lose players.

Explains your analogy better then I could. Like @j32400 said, the last thing we would need is to keep on excuting the idea of a hub server, instead of a towny server. Besides, if we are planning on being a mini game server what's gonna hold us up above the rest? Next to mineplex and hypixel with a surplus of mini games and gadgets we look like a bundle of sticks; that being said the minecraft community has become more drawn to mini games instead of towny, which means we need to totally change the scope of our server in a way that still keeps the idea of "Meepcraft: The biggest towny server in the world". If we were gonna refresh everything, I think we should stick to a few mini games, and towny as the main focus.

 

Unfortunately towny is no longer popular, and I suppose it is a possibility that we will not succeed as a minigame server; either way, we need something original
