    Hey guys/gals,

Sorry for the long title but recently I found an unclaimed zombie spawner in gamma and with my town staff we have been working on making a villager trading center. Most projects encounter hiccups along the way and ours is no different. I built a grinder style collection point for zombies and zombie villagers but 95% of the time, when I try to cure a zombie with a weakness pot and a golden apple, it will shake and then despawn after a while without becoming a villager. I was wondering if we could prolong the despawn on zombie villagers because at the time of my posting this, my town mates and I have lost almost 16k in wasted gold for golden apples. Thanks for considering this!

    Sincerely,
    _Gimble_1

Move the existing villagers around you 100 blocks away before curing and the problem will be fixed

@Muunkee Unfortunately we are out in the middle of nowhere so I would have to claim a lot of plots to do that strategy... :(

Because villagers are so heavily nerfed.
Not sure why this specifically was implemented, but its due to that.

You can extract a lot of items out of villagers, flooding the market with items, devaluing their prices heavily.

Well I've noticed that there is a small chance to insta-cure zombie villagers, I guess the chance was decreased some time ago?

100 blocks is nothing lol. If you've already used 15k in gold you can probably afford the 2k it'll take to go out 100 blocks

try 16 blocks. I recall reggles saying that villagers spawning within 16 blocks of each other despawn automatically to prevent breeding. Also make sure you're outside of any village chunks

This is a bit too extreme, press f3 + g, or toggle world borders and make sure that there are no villagers or village areas in the same chunk. It should be easy enough to set up a system like this to cure and transfer villagers. Also, be weary that you can only keep a certain amount of villagers in one plot before they start despawing due to the maximum entity limit; I believe this is somewhere around 40.

Your entity is possibly to high and when it identifies that and tries to update "cure" it wipes them! Try not to have so many on your plot at once.
