remove caps filter

i know this is big kek coming from me but the caps filter is really silly. i guarantee you that nobody gets filled with bloodthirst upon seeing two capital letters next to each other and there are many cases where i have wanted to use some phrase or acronym with multiple capital letters to a word and have been unable to due to the silly little filter. Additionally, when im feeling obnoxious, there are very simple ways to evade the caps filter ( L I K E T H I S) that are much more of a pain to read. I get that seeing excessive caps can be annoying, but issues with spam can be dealt with by staff pretty easily

It's easy for people to feel like they're getting attacked or harassed if this happens. Personally I Don't Like People Doing This because this is the current filter for caps, and it makes me feel like they're shouting -- not a nice feeling. Meep is chill and new players probably don't want to come onto the server and see a bunch of caps spam.

not a hater, i like when it's used in context and sometimes i even do L O L when kling makes a half decent joke. I just think the occasional bypass/warning is enough atm. my two cents ;p

 

I find the caps filter annoying, but I'd rather it stay, as the chat feels nice and friendly with less overuse of capital letters.

 

I think caps filter is important.
It keeps young immature players from spamming the chat and disturbing the server.
Even though it sometimes is annoying, I feel it should stay.

 

Agreed, even though its a little annoying when you're trying to type someone's official name (in all caps or some caps) it is safer to keep it as a safety feature to prevent the unnecessary harassment and spam from other players.

 

I use the caps filter to cover up my awful typing skills
For example:
I type - Hi MEepcraft how are you
Comes out - Hi Meepcraft how are you

 

Even with the caps filter imposed, it's quite simple to find a method of bypassing it; there will still be players that abuse these methods to emulate caps. Similarly to how staff moderate chat at the moment to apprehend any player that evades the caps lock system, removing the caps filter would have staff moderate chat in the same manner (warning any player that purposely uses ALL CAPS WITH NO MAJOR MEANING).

Getting rid of spam/textual abuse in chat is virtually impossible. That, however, is what the moderation team is there for. I believe that the caps filter really isn't necessary, and only encourages troublemakers to seem more obnoxious.

 

What I think the cap filter does is a) save time for the staff team and b) keep out lots of the smaller but still annoying caps messages.
