    They can not ip ban or check your ip, because there ddos protection makes everyone have the same ip.

    Not true as of a month ago.

    Bans are the only thing that'll stick if you change your username.

    They can just ip ban you, but the problem is I think thay will ban you on forums as well.

    Unless somehow IPs were used or something more advanced, I'm sure the ban list only has usernames in it.

    They are called UUID's and they are like a unchangeable secret name that will be used for bans. It can be used for donations easily I believe since it is open info, just up to onis to transfer the data or not... :/
