    I mean, you're right..

Minecraft Windows 10 Edition is basically the mobile version of the game Minecraft Pocket Edition but for Windows 10, meaning you'll be able to play it on both Windows 10 PCs and mobile devices. Also, you'll be able to play it with an Xbox controller, keyboard and mouse, touch controls, or some combination of these, which introduces some interesting new ways to create. You'll be able to play it online with Pocket Edition players on Android or iOS devices, and you can find people to play with via Microsoft's online service Xbox Live. It's more likely turning into a cross platform game.

Also we can not deny that C++ compiler are faster than the Java, so that would be a step forward into optimizing the game yes.

And you're right again, Modding in Java is easier, that's actually the same reason why Notch has chosen Java, because he was more productive and was coding at ease at the time when Minecraft came out.

I honestly think that moving to C++ is more of a benefit than a loss, as Modding can always be done. Nothing can stop a programmer when he knows what he wants from his code.

    Minecraft: Education Edition...
I must applaud Microsoft for completely milking everything and anything Minecraft related before the game dies

Well he said he had to choose the language he feels more comfortable with; I doubt he would make from minecraft what it is today if he opted for C++ since he doesn't like that language, even though C++ compiler is way faster and more powerful.

I like the fact that it sounds better as far as performance goes, as my laptop runs minecraft rather poorly, even with opfifine. Besides the code, is there really much difference as far as gameplay? Would by it as soon as it came out if it was released on Steam. Knowing Microsoft though, I doubt it. Definitely something I shall be looking forward to in the coming months. Thanks for sharing!

I think that once MineCraft PE and all the other console versions are updated to the same standard as the PC version, the PC version should be switched to C++ to allow cross-platform gameplay. Imagine playing MeepCraft on your phone, or X Box, or whatever else.

I think that the issue with mod-making, while possibly devastating for people who are advanced in java script, is also a great opportunity for people who are advanced in C++.
