I'll just speak my mind straight away.

Stop focusing on the bloody minigames (MGs).

If I want to play MGs, I go to a proper Hub server and enjoy high-quality, exciting, populated minigames.
Not sure what your idea on how people find their way to a server is, but I guarantee you, the majority doesn't come from a youtubers channel playing our MGs nor does it come from the advertisement of said MGs.

Advertisement in general worked, you attracted a lot of new people, but they had literally zero reason to stay. Outdated, empty MGs, bugged Skyblock, bugged Parkour, ancient Towny plugin. I wonder why I stayed myself... oh right we had/have amazing Staff, who interacts with the community - atleast we've got that going on for us.

"Minigames attract new people, Towny doesn't", "Let's pay youtubers to showcase our minigames", "New spawn priority" -- all very wrong.

I joined for Skyblock, it was really popular back in the days, many people saw this new cool game mode and wanted to try it out for themselves. So they go to google, search "Minecraft Skyblock" and start going through servers.

New, exciting stuff attracts people, not some mediocre versions of MGs, which you chose to advertise. You think that when a youtuber presents them, it will help it somehow? It's kind of like the upvotes on their videos, only a fractions cares to put a like on it, people watch it because they are subscribed to the youtuber. It doesn't act like advertisement for the server, it's money thrown away (So was the new spawn, but I already talked about it enough).

At the last Town Hall meeting, you said you were going to remove a MG. Even at our peak hours, during a holidays weekend, you have to beg people to come join a MG. Now you are adding Halo back. Shaking my head (*furiously*).

Sorry, but I can't imagine anyone searching "Halo Minecraft", joining the 25th placed Meepcraft and staying for a half empty MG. In your mind, now that you "caught" a player, they will slowly transition to Towny.

If Cpt. Sparrow doesn't help it. No one will.

You fixed Halo? Good, keep it. Remove everything else, google "exciting new minecraft minigames/gamemodes", roll a dice, pick one, add it, ADD IT PROPERLY and then move on to doing actually something for the "Biggest towny server". Do something with Towny. Keyword Towny. Towny.

A lot of people complain when things like dungeon don't come back. This is where it is important, considering our small staff that can actually work on mini games ect. (speaking for techs which we only have 1). They have to pick small of aspects of the server they truly want to see fixed. When I saw shains' post (in the town hall meeting notes), really all he was saying is that every single mini game was being worked on; "Custom Towny Plugins" (do we really need those right now?), Halo, Dungeon, bugs. This raises the bar, because we expect them to be done, whereas if they only say they will get a few done, they can actually get them done. In a reasonable amount of time that doesn't get people agitated.

That was not really the point I was trying to make, but it is not false either.

I don't really care about the people who play currenly, let them complain, let them threaten to leave, they always return.
People saying they would quit if /fix was to be removed? I bet you they would return in a matter of days. Meepcraft is addictive, you bind with the community and become a hopeless case, you'll always return sooner or later.

Yes we have only one tech, it was said that we can't afford more. I don't have a clue about the salary of a minecraft technician, but if the server can afford a 3k unnecessary spawn (while we have VERY talented architects), paid youtubers (useless), why can't we afford a second tech, who would actually make a difference?

We expect the problems to be fixed, to satisfy the current playerbase, but are we really doing anything for the future of the server (read: Thinking long-term, growing as a busines?)

towny doesn't need a custom plugin

towny needs custom items like magic wands and custom enchants to keep it interesting
