Minas Tirith Project

Hiya Meeplings!

I've been thinking of starting a large project on Meepcraft for a long time, and now I have finally begun one.

I plan on building Minas Tirith from the Lord of the Rings books/movies, by taking the build found here:

Since the build is much larger than is feasible for Meepcraft (y2 to y248 isn't reasonable), I am going to remove the very bottom level.

Even without this bottom level, the build will still be about 21 by 21 plots large (about 441 plots), and will take many resources and a large amount of time.

I have already begun building from the top, and plan on working my way downwards, expanding as needed. For privacy I cannot share the coordinates of the build (this is to avoid the blackmail of plots needed for expansion), but the build is located above an ocean.

After about 2 hours, here is the Day One progress:

Already, over 50k has been spent from plot claiming costs and quartz costs. Simply put, I will not be able to fund this by myself, if I want this to be done in a reasonable amount of time.

Because of the absurd cost, I was hoping that some donations could be made in the form of meebles, or quartz (blocks or slabs). All materials other than quartz I will collect manually, as to keep the cost as low as possible.

To help give some drive to donate, I will offer some recognition for contributing.
For a 10k donation, your name will be added to a sign in a Hall of Donations (which will be set up on the completion of the build)
For a 27k donation (one doublechest of quartz shards), you will get your own sign in the Hall of Donations, which will be colored to your preference, and positioned wherever on the wall you can choose.
For any donation 75k or larger, you will have a house in Minas Tirith named in your honor, along with the sign in the Hall of Donations. AND, you will be able to make interior design edits inside the house named in your honor, which can include anything you want, as long as it follows all of Meepcrafts rules.*

*If I think the customizations made by a 75k or larger donation is inappropriate or detrimental to the build, you may be asked, or forced to change/remove certain parts.

** Houses named and customized in a player's honor will be on a first-come, first-serve basis. I will let the first players who donate 75k+ choose their house first.
If you would like to donate meebles or quartz, I will set up quartz donation chests at /pwarp S , and you can pay meebles to the town S, which will be used for building and upkeep. /pay town-S (amount)

I dont have much money to donate, but when you're finished I can play the role of Denethor in flames jumping from that

would recommend using quartz as a contrast block to white concrete which is much easier to get than quartz atm

 

I can get quartz easily, it just costs 32 per block. So it adds up, but I will be trying to fund this myself (and donations are already helping a lot) over the whole time I'm building this. Get me a good day with a full halo lobby, and I can hobble out with like 200-300k easily in like 2 hours.

Did not have much time to work on this today (about an hour and a half), but the amount of detail in the stone is making progress take a while.

 

I have my AP Gov test, and my teachers are unrelentless on homework. I will continue this project Thursday after my test.

Not much progress, but I have earned a lot of money since the last update, and hopefully I can afford to own more plots now, and it looks like some help might have been gained so updates should be bigger in the future.
