Towny3D

i remember this being requested so so so long ago but it had never existed until now. i feel like this would probably require a towny reset, but hey, there is a possibility of that happening in 1.14 as said in a recent suggestion.

if towny were to reset, i would think this would be a good addition. probably needs testing though cuz i have no clue if it works properly.

i remember wanting to make apartment highrise plots back in 2013 or so...

 

You know, I've suggested this multiple times while I've been staff this time and last time but it would require a reword of towny. However this plugin keeps me hopeful. 3D plots would make it so we can actually make use of skyscrapers like in downtown legend and people have an interest in Arcology can make their towns based off of a large mega tower. I'm all for an implementation of something like this or this plugin if it works. +1

 

Whats the problem of skyscrapers atm?

 

Currently towny creates plots on a two dimensional plane. So when players build skyscrapers, it's the same payment for the town as a two story medieval home as a 30 story tower. 3d towny would allow towns to give out each floor to a separate resident in said skyscraper, for example.

 

seems pointless no one really plays towns and it’d take a complete rework of it. no point in messing it up or risking a reset for like 5 people to have a floor on a skyscraper lmao

If magically the plugin could be implemented with very minor interruptions of current towny, than I'd say yes. Of course, we all know it takes a miracle for any tinkering to towny to work.

 

This would be great if our server was alive... still +1 :/

 

Denied, this doesn’t truly fit our current needs as it would force a complete reset of towny as well as removing our existing additions.
