HELLO?

EDIT: Klutz just informed me that he and Fuzzlr and the rest of the staff have been discussing revamping meepcraft as Fuzzlr has graduated college. Still, read what's below but take it with a slight pinch of salt perhaps


So, meep is dead. It has been for a long time but for the last few months there haven't even been any meep news updates on the home page of the forum. Please EITHER:

1) Unarchive the old posts and let meepcraft rest as a place of nostalgia we can go back to when we think back fondly of some of the most entertaining years of our lives

or (doubt it'll happen)

2) Minecraft, as a whole, isn't dead. Granted, the playerbase has changed as people have grown out of it, but it still attracts millions of people. So SELL the server because Fuzzlr & Co. clearly don't give a damn about it (not blaming you, I'm sure as an adult you want to pursue other things) and it is hindering any potential this server might have to get some players back. Maybe a new owner and co can start advertising, build meepcraft back up because, if it becomes anywhere as near as good as it used to be, it'll be damn good.

woah how recent was that?? if there are changes happening I'm gonna be one happy sponge. I saw fuzzlr was on forums and was in game before too. hopefully this is a sign of something!!! not all hope is lost !!

I was on earlier today and saw about 5 new players join, not sure if they stayed or not but it shows meepcraft is still out there.

I'd love to see there be more staff interaction and engagement. I believe a lot of the player's faith in the community and the staff came from the interaction and events and discussions between players and staff.

Take the suggestions thread - suggestions arent really discussed much. Threads are put out there and they usually end up with "Yeah that sounds cool" or "no, we wont or cant do this because of X, sorry." Before I would see staff meetings to discuss the worth of a suggestion and the community had faith in the staff to not only put effort into their own suggestions, but to engage with each other and either change or redesign suggestions to make more sense or new ideas would come off of each others threads.

Same with in game chat. I used to see staff ask what people thought of X change. Surveys happened, discussions happened, and there was little to no toxicity. Why? Because I think people felt heard. I'd really like to see that again.

Even when suggestions were denied, there was almost always a clear reason why [would not logistically work, conflicts with other ideas or plugins, too buggy, simply not possible, not worth the time or not enough interest]. Even a denied suggestion that you put effort into was a little disappointing sometimes but worst case you knew why it didn't happen and that was super cool. At the moment since there doesnt appear to be much done, suggestions look like a hole where ideas go to die, and thats upsetting.

As dumb as a minecraft server being important sounds, but meep was super important for quite a bit of my life and helped me with my first job, built up my confidence speaking to others, I helped in group projects in staff, I built my own projects with big towns and shops that didn't go well bc I knew jack about how an eco works. But it was fun and I was so more than willing to stay up late every night here. I'm cautiously optimistic. Ive already expressed intrest to klutch that I'd like to help [although the conversation was dropped midway through which admittedly made me more mad than it should've] and I hope that the community has opportunities to express what they currently want in a way that actually seems like ideas are being considered and in some cases implemented.

 

Woah woah woah, hold up, Meepcraft might be revamped? The website was briefly changed as part of a test? Am I reading this right? Staff still care about the server?!? There’s still hope!?

Unless the server can get unblacklisted then anything else is moot.

 

neither did I, but a lot of people had to. I'm not sure how it works but it does affect some people logging in [I've no idea of the technical aspect of what determines who can get in and who can't] which will lessen the amount of new people having access in the first place

 

This has been unrequired for the last 2 and a half years. I've never had any of my 4 PC systems have an issue connecting to the server. The blacklist is 100% irrelevant at this point in time.

Personally, I never installed or used the SquidHQ launcher, still been on every day for the the 3 years.

 

Interesting. As I said, I've never had an issue before either, and I've used several PCs and laptops, even moving across the US from TX to WA so.. Idk. Maybe try to reach out to people who reported they did have to use the launcher and see if it works for them?

So whatabouts the EULA then? Are we currently EULA compliant or are we skirting around a gray area? Are we planning on becoming more, or less, compliant? What if we get mildly popular again and we're audited again?

A good start would be to update the forums with what's happening rn, imo. A new MeepTimes?

 

Ive always wanted to go back and see the arguements on big ban appeals, esp VKLs

 

Make VKL admin instantly everything will be fixed.

 

I tried getting staff to unarchive old posts when I was helper but it was ultimately shot down because they’re “irrelevant.” Those posts were available to staff iirc though, would be great to have them back all locked
