Get rid of grace period in hg

Grace period has been here for 2 hours and there has been so much negativity towards it. Hunger games was better without it just remove it.

 

There was never a grace period.......

 

Why is there a grace period anyways? Literally read the first book. Katniss didnt go to the cornucopia because she new it was a bloodbath and ended up running into the forest with a backpack and winning.

Yes, but this is NOT the book. This is a MINIGAME for a MINECRAFT server.

The grace period is there for the purpose of giving players a chance to actually play and not immediately die at the start of the game when they are in a chest.

The thing is, 30 seconds is a long time. It allows players to loot 4 or more chests. I'd be supportive of a 5-10 second grace period, but I would prefer if there wasn't one at all. +1

Make it like a 5 second period. Then I think we can be happy.

 

Ok first. It takes like 5 seconds to get to mid. So let's not even have one at all.
Second. Everyone is equally far away from the chests. If you die immediately that probably means you're slow or bad at pvp. Either way HG is meant so the best player wins, so obviously if you're dying instantly you're not gonna win anyway. Probably.

The grace period sucks, people are able to loot every chest in the middle without a worry. In the book there wasn't a grace period, so there shouldn't be one at all. +1

 

Fuzzlr's changed it to 15 seconds, which is great, but I still think it should be removed completely.

 

The fact there is a Grace Period discourages me to play. It ruins the whole point of getting into the middle. The middle is for you to take the risk to get the upper hand for later in the game.
Now that everyone can go in the middle, there is no risk. If you're bad at pvping or you don't want to take the risk, or just hate dying early, don't go in the middle. You can still win the game with the loot around the map.

 

Lol with the grace period I was able to loot 5 chests from the middle then get on a boat and swim around for half an hour.

Also, does the real hunger games have a grace period? No. You get killed if you play. There is no grace period in real ng so why have it here?

 

+1, Even if they dont remove this they should atleast make it so that people can use flint and steel.

 

I wouldn't say get rid of the whole grace period. Make 10-20 seconds.
