    For a MineCraft forum, it's nice to know player names. If someone doesn't have the same username as their forum name, or even if they have multiple accounts, it can get confusing. Plus, it shouldn't require too much work due to it already being made :)

    Pros:
    • Good for changing forum names (no need to verify in-game)
    • Support for multiple usernames
    • Verify using minecraft.net directly
    • You can verify weather or not you are banned in-game, as long as you have a forums account.
    • Add-on to Xenforo, no need to create something brand new.
    Cons:
    • Is a little glitchy (sometimes verification doesn't work first time).
    • Site goes down/verification doesn't work in some browsers at times.

    To verify it's quite simple, you type in your username, pick an associator password (can be anything) and then verify you own the account by changing your skin, directly on minecraft.net, so it is completely safe.

    Here's how it looks, under your name. Obviously the red is the user names to your account(s). Up to 5 can be shown at once (you can choose which 5).

    This is something that we can look into, but I know that we're already planning on developing integration between the in-game and forums accounts. This is something that would offer more insight into a player's account or accounts in-game (inventories, shops, advancements, etc.) and so while the above service looks really nice, it might not fit into the architecture that we're designing. However, I am planning on writing a piece that allows for usernames to automatically change based on in-game names.
