Factions

Alright guys, think about this. I have suggested this for ages, and before you bring up the most common complaints, let me answer them for you.

"Gahh! Faction players! They are so harmful to the community!"
-Well, if they really are so harmful, why not ban them? They are not being harmful if they are following the rules. You cannot complain about that. We already have harmful players and they get banned. What's the big deal? Why do staff have a problem doing what they are supposed to do? And what about nice faction players? Bringing this up makes the staff team look bad.

"Factions is a failure! It never works!"
-That's because factions was never run properly. With proper care, it can thrive.

"I don't like Factions! I won't use it! Nobody plays it!
-Well, some people do. I am sorry you don't like a gamemode. I don't like Boomo or Tntrun, but they got added. My point is that you don't get everything you want. And what harm to you does it do?

"Eww PvP! Nobody PvP's!"
-True, because hit detection sucked. Hit detection has been fixed, so we can pvp now.

There are the most common problems people see. Now, into deeper stuff.

1. When I last attempted to add Factions, we need an inactive owner, a destroyed economy, non-working mini-games, etc. Now that most of this if not all is fixed, we have the time to add Factions.
2. Factions will take work, just like anything. Factions will most likely need its own staff. Factions will need proper care, something that was failed to be brought to the servers before.
3. Factions is a large gamemode, I know, but because of our growing community, having Factions can attract members to the server. If we make Factions unique in a way, it can be a huge help.


Now, I know Factions has failed many times. But think about the times we added it. The first time in 2012, it was not extremely popular, but not awful either. It got shut down because of lack of funds and interest. In 2013 with MeepNetworks, it was not half-bad! We had lots of members playing and that showed a lot of interest! It was just shut down with MeepNetworks. Now, we don't have as many problems. We are thriving as never before since MeepNetworks. We have the time and money to do so. Please @Fuzzlr, listen to the community that WANTS Factions! We want it back!

 

-1 I am aware how much everyone wants factions, but it is too similar to towns. It is either factions or towns. We don't need both. I am also pretty sure that no one wants their town to be taken away. Btw this idea has been suggested too many times. It has been denied everytime. Let's stop suggesting it guys.

It is nothing like Towns. We can have both. Factions can be added. Also, why be such a downer? Nobody likes a downer.

 

All I am saying is that the staff clearly doesn't want this on Meep. You can keep suggesting it, but it will not get accepted. I am trying to save you guys time.

 

For the longest time, staff said there would absolutely not be another Virtual shop.

for factions, -1. We don't need it.

 

I respect that, but I stick my point that this will most likely not get accepted. I have no issue with having both towns and factions, but the develepors don't seem to want this.

Look, Towny is great, I love towny and stuff. The only problem with towny is that NOTHING HAPPENS! Get residents, watch them go inactive, build grinder, build a farm... then what? Oh right, plots... build more plots for more residents to go inactive

 

I am not arguing that Towny sucks. I am just saying that Factions could go with it!

 

-1 out of all the game modes we could add to the server factions shouldn't be one of them. I'd rather see prison than factions.

 

This was just denied. I would say +1 but it probably will be denied.

 

I love factions. Meep likes being unique. Well, a well run factions server is unique. We have great staff team, they can handle factions if there is more staff to assist them. Huge +1

I don't think enough of the playerbase actually wants this.
I don't think the hit detection will be that great immediately upon opening.
I don't think that it should be added with so much lag going on already (at least that I've gotten).

I joined meep for two things. Towny and factions. Towny if I wanted to just lie low for a while and factions if I wanted a challenge or more of a survival experience. When meep switched over to them being separate, I knew something was up. When coolkid took over, I knew its was getting worse. Finally, factions closed. I missed that part of meep and it reminds of me of how old meep used to be.

I'm a dedicated factions player and I've been looking for a decent factions server for a while now.

 

-1 Factions needs a huge player base to run properly. The majority of players who want factions are constant pvpers and not enough players who play towny. Sure, i'd love factions but its not a very good use of staffs time creating and maintaining

Can always instate more staff members to handle just factions.
