Factions

Most of you guys probably know what factions is. Maybe we could add it back! It could be its own little world. Instead of changing it every now and then you can just make it so nothing is nerfed. The prices stay at the shop forever (maybe gets changed every now and then. It would be good if nothing would be removed or taken out of the shop. You can raid people. Also maybe the money is different from towns so like its own currency. Possibly it could be like Every 5 meebles in factions = 1 Meeble in towns or whatever. Since the money in factions would go up a lot it would cause the economy to go up a ton if we didn't have a different currency in factions. Post your comments below!

It's a very fun game. A lot of people play factions and it could bring Meepcraft more players, then more donators. I don't think it can really harm us unless it is absolutely bad and it took a lot of time.

On the note of bringing more players, how do we compete with the hundreds of hundreds of servers that have, factions, and a good number of servers that are as dedicated to factions as we are to towny. How do we compete against them for players?

 

As Deinen said, there are thousands of Factions servers out there. Just looking through the server list it seems there are more factions servers then everything else combined.
We want to keep MeepCraft unique. Sure, there are many towny servers, but none as good as MeepCraft. We are the only high-ranking towny server that really bases around towny, not just as a side.
As for more donations, you've got to be realistic. When they see MeepCraft on the server list and it says Factions, they have a choice: Join MeepCraft, what seems like a mini-game server (Because with all the different game modes, it will) or join the simply factions server. I can guess a large 90% of the players on Factions will be ones whom already play MeepCraft.

I love factions.
Really do.
Meepcraft is a towny server though.
But
The fact that we would even have factions
would still bring in more players and/or donators.
It doesn't matter that thousands of servers already have it
It's just when a new player joins
and he sees factions, towny, creative, etc.,
He sees lots of options, factions being one of the most apparent
and the server draws him in.

From what I've heard. If I'm incorrect please don't kill me.
We had a hostile community and rule breakers and scammers and yadda yadda all over the place when we had factions. Faction caused more war and butthurt than anything.
Also, we don't need it and we don't need to compete with other servers, we need to be the bestest and make cool stuff.
If you want to play factions, go play factions somewhere else.

 

I totally agree with that but MeepCraft is one of the best servers. Most people after they finish being good at their factions or they get raided and rage then they look for a new one lol But even if we don't get new players it is still fun to play. New people will always be downloading minecraft. Maybe if people start youtubing and people watch we could get more people. I am staring to record more. I know just doing it for the players may not work but it may keep it from players leaving. The community is very active and nice so it would make them more likely to stay.

Well if you are right, scamming and stuff is allowed in factions I am pretty sure. The only bad thing would be is since people can grief in factions they may do it in towns since they could do it in factions. But maybe more warnings about not griefing?

Factions would just split the communities into 2 groups.
And that factions would also bring in cheaters/scammers/spammers/and those who use language alot.
Also, you can just play factions on a different server with your friends, instead of begging meep to add it in.

 

Denien, nothing against you here, but how do we compete against the other towns servers? We can use the same "marketing strategies" to gain players for factions if it were added.
