English as a Rule?

    If this thread is in the wrong place, my apologies.

    Just a quick question: Is it a rule on the server to speak only English on the server? It was never in the rules a long time ago, and I can't find it now... the reason I'm asking is that in the middle of chat, I (in a non-spamming fashion) had said "me gusta" and a SuperMod kicked me without warning for not speaking English.

    Just curious as to whether or not anyone had ever had any experiences like this or if I am just missing a rule somewhere. I could be completely wrong!

    You're not allowed to talk in a different language in global because we don't know what your talking about, and it might be offensive/inappropriate.

    You can talk in a different language in local if everyone understands it and is okay with it.

    You can also talk to someone via /msg if they understand it as well.

    Words like 'Ciao' or 'Adios' are fine because pretty much everyone knows what they mean.

    Hmm... interesting. xD I had thought that "me gusta" was a popular meme once (as below). Maybe we should consider codifying this in the rulebook so that other Meepers don't get in trouble for such things.

    In my opinion the Smod needed to give you a warning before kicking you, so that's kind of his fault, not yours.
