Easter Traditions

Now that Easter is coming up, I thought it would be cool to share with each other our Easter Traditions!

For Easter I used to go to my grandparents' house in New Jersey. We would have an Easter egg hunt. There'd be a silver egg and a gold egg. In the silver egg there would be $5 and in the gold egg there'd be $10. Then my grandma would give $3 to everybody who didn't get the good eggs. Now since they're getting older, we go to my uncle's house in New Jersey. Last year they put puzzle pieces in all the eggs and we would get all the eggs and complete the puzzle, which was pretty fun.

So what are you're Easter traditions?

 

I summon Cthulhu, our lord and savior, to reap death and destruction on those who do not obey him. Also, we usually have ham.

 

I go to my grandparents to have Easter dinner then they hide tiny chocolate eggs all around the house/garden then all my cousins/siblings and I have to find them. The person with most eggs wins a big chocolate egg. Of course, everyone gets a chocolate egg but the winner just gets a bigger one! Once we're done with all that, we skedaddle for the day
It's really neat and i like the competetion, me and my only girl cousin always team up, (i have like 6 boy cousins). We won once, celebration!!1!

We have our grandparents and aunt from new York that come up. On the day we wake up sit around a table and thank jesus and prair. We then go to church and worship, after that's done we do a family easter egg hunt. Then come night we have a really nice ham

 

We Greeks won't be celebrating Easter until May 1st. Although, we usually go to midnight mass, hard boil red dyed eggs, play a game where we hit them against each other to see who has the strongest egg, eat liver soup, eat lamb, eat more lamb. And since Easter is also my name's day, my name Anastasios coming from the Greek word Anestasi meaning resurrection, we usually go out to dinner or just have a big Greek family dinner. Too bad we moved to Chicago. Our dinners would be like 30+ people if we lived closer to family. It's only like 15 people at dinners now.

Also, I never believed in the Easter bunny.

 

I used to go to my great grandma's house, we would decorate the eggs and all my family members would come. But, since she died in December, we are heading over to the hospital to see my aunt and have an Easter egg hunt with the other kids, and random children who are there. After that, my mother lets us select a single present like it's Christmas.

I'll be in charge of hiding the eggs for the kids and not make them really hard to find. Ever since last year, at my Great grandma's house, my 40 year old cousin, and my father, were in charge of hiding eggs. They hid them on top of tree branches, on top of tractors, tires, and one in the barn. *shakes head*

It took us 2 hours to find the golden egg, which would make you have the grand prize of $25 + first to eat food in line.

my dad is from greece so we do the same except we don't invite people over and we dye our eggs many different colors. i love the egg smashing game lol

 

Awkwardly go to church and pretend I'm not an atheist. It's lots of fun.

 

I don't have a life so I never did anything for Easter ;-;

 

I on,y go when my grandparents go. Other than that, you guessed my break other than eating pounds of chocolate

 

Don't have any tradition really, not practicing Christian. My grandmother is, however, and this year I'm driving up to her house tomorrow and spending the night then staying for Easter service.

 

We treat it like any other day until someone says "Isn't it easter today?" and someone else says "Yeah." and then we all go back to what we were doing.

 

Im almost 16 and my parents still hide eggs for my sister and I! Well the "Easter Bunny" does. There are about 8-16 eggs for each of us depending on how much candy is in each. My parents also hjde a big chocolate bunny for us each. They are super fair to us and our yard is huge so we each get a side to make it fair. I'm pretty spoiled and have a HUGE candy addiction.

 

My family is really big, so we all go up to Nevada and have a big gigantic dinner. After the adults go hide the eggs and the little ones go find the eggs. Some are worth money! The gold eggs are worth 5$ the silver one is 3$ and the bronze is 1$.
Its really fun in my opinion

 

What I do is play Meep all day ... like last year

We also get a gigantic chocolate rabbit which I'm hoping we actually eat this year

 

Well this year: Eat chocolate and pack stuff and move out from old house.

But normally...eat chocolate and sit home being all alone. That's all. :I
