Despertly need help - can't get to meepcraft anymore

Need help. I can't get to meepcraft anymore. The launcher can't seem to find multiplayer servers anymore. This just happened 11-5.

refresh does nothing
i re downloaded the launcher, ran "repair" no help
I did a complete uninstall and reinstall - no help.
I have checked the firewall setting - the correct path to minecraft/java app is in there.

any suggestions?

 

what launcher are you using

if you are using the default launcher that requires the setup wizard, try the alternate download launcher in the .exe format if this still doesn't work remove all your mods and run a vanilla 1.12.2 instance, if all this doesn't work download multiMC and create a new 1.12.2 instance and if all this doesn't work: contact Mojang

i run no mods at all.

found it, downloading it now

 

it is a way to make more stable instances with a better output log
MultiMC
download the version that works with your OS and export the folder to your desktop, run multimc.exe and create a new instance, log in and look at the output log if you see red text while MC is running please start a conversation with me and paste what it says.

if you see red text when joining meepcraft do the same thing as stated above, if you see red text with a black border like this

also paste what is says in the convo

 

unfortunately my virus scanner says MultiMC.exe is not safe and won't allow it. bummer.
i have tried squidmc too, that didn't help.
i have gone to majong support and submitted a question.

browsers work ok on this machine. my son mentioned yesterday that League of Legends seems to be having login in too.

Previously to last night, my windows 10 machine was running meep fine when it didn't lock up (we had to do a full reset of Windows last night, haven't reinstalled minecraft yet)

this machine and our "emergency" computer are both older computers that were Win 7 that got upgraded. I was on the emergency machine last night and it wont connect to multi player servers anymore either. makes me wonder if it is something with mahongs latest launcher that doesn't play nice with older machines?

A. the minecraft launcher doesn't connect to servers, if you cant connect to any server than your computer security changed. the only thing the launcher does is spoiler alert: launch the game! dont start screwing with the computers OS and/or software because you cant get on a minecraft server.
B. the minecraft launcher is compatible with windows 7-10, macOX and Linux so there is no problem with the game or launcher.

it is a problem with either:
your internet
your computer security

 

we thought something might have gotten onto the win 10 machine, but we ran multiple virus scanners and anit malware programs on both it and this computer and came up with nothing.
we even tried resetting the modem to it;s original settings.
our computer security has never said it has a problem with minecraft.
this is just strange

nope, can't connect to any other servers, even tried direct connection

 

than your account is messed up

 

The reason your comp flags these things as unsafe is because its coded in java which the comp cant read that well and therefore doesnt know if its a threat or not so it just says it is for safety reasons

My account is messed up? is there a way to fix that?

what really bugs me is the lack of consistency here.
2 computers, both running the same virus scanner
1 win 10 out of box computer, was running meepcraft fine (this is the one we reset last night, still working on getting it back up and running)
1 win7 upgraded to 10, won't let meepcraft launcher connect to multiplayer servers

doesn't seem like a modem thing since 1 computer can get thru.
doesn't seem like a virus scanner thing since they both run the same one. (automatically updates)

 

MEEPCRAFT launcher?

and the minecraft launcher NEVER connects to servers. that is the GAMES job, let me repeat, the WINDOWS APPLICATION doesn't connect to servers the JAVA APP does.
please stop talking about launchers the launcher has one job and is doing it: launching the game

 

my bad, sometimes i get my terminology confused.

do you think my java might be messed up? is it worth trying to check for java updates?
just checked here on my non-running machine. it has the latest version of java

just ran the launcher with task manager running.
click play on launcher - java app starts (pointing to ../minecraft/runtime/blah/blah/javaw
launcher window disappears, java app stops and disappears from task manager
game window opens. but no java running.
that doesn't sound right

 

Shouldn't you just wait for the newer machine to be fixed or updated or whatever you said you were doing?
