Introduction:

Hello, my name is Courtney you all know me as Courtney! Ha, anyways I am 20 years old. Since my helper application I have changed my college major for the third time, this time to Computer Programming. I have always had a love for computers and learning how they operate. Minecraft has really sparked something in me especially and being able to fix things that go wrong. This coming up semester I have three classes my first is called Computer Concepts and Design, my second is Structured Query Language, and my third is Program Design and Development. It is truly so interesting to learn about the way computers work and how they are developed. I still work at the same preschool but I work five days a week now instead of just two. We recently went under a change of ownership and now the new owner only trusts me to open every day before I go to school and close up every single day. I will be going back to class starting January 8th, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8-10 am for my PDD class and my other two classes are online which means I need to make sure I have time to focus on those classes. A lot of my time is spent doing school and working but I have still made time for Meep as you can tell and I am usually always on in any free time that I have. I am still the Co-Mayor in bbycakes2012’s town in Beta(Gotham) doing the most I can to keep it running while she is sometimes really busy!

Why you should be Mod?

I have been a helper on MeepCraft since October 12, 2014 and my time here being a helper I have learned absolutely so much! I know that most people say that on mod apps but it is so true. The level of information that has entered my brain it could possibly explode. Behind the scenes on MeepCraft there is so much that happens and so much that most players do not know about. The time and effort that is put into this server to make it what it is, is truly incredible. Modreqs are a Helper’s number one duty and to help players with whatever they need and I believe I have truly done exactly that. I may not compare to some other staff’s modreq count but I do get in game messages from players asking for immediate help without going through the modreq process. Just being there and being able to help is all that matters. Being a staff member isn’t easy and there is so much to learn, but it is so worth it. I have the upmost confidence in my ability to do wonderful things for this server and to be able to go above and beyond everyone’s expectations of me. Being a Helper is so uplifting and I just love being able to give my time and effort to help others. The “thank you” after I have helped someone makes me feel so wonderful! I have made some of the most incredible friends possible and there are some I have let into my personal life outside of Meep just because we have become that close. I love having so many great people around to talk to, everybody just lights up my face with everything they do! It is a feeling that is indescribable! The community is something unlike no other, we wouldn’t be here without the players of the server. Each and every one of you have a sole purpose and that makes Meep that much more enjoyable. The members of the staff team have been so extremely helpful and caring when it comes to needing someone by your side and helping you with any situation you are dealing with. I couldn’t imagine a better group of people to work with. I believe that my time here being a helper I have done my job to the best of my abilities and I am ready to further my experience and do more for the server in every way possible. I know that I will never stop learning and I will still continue to learn everyday with all the new things and new rules that may come about. Becoming a Moderator would just be a step above the rest and I will still continue to try my hardest in everything that I do.

Weaknesses:

Sensitivity- I am a girl and I take a lot of things to heart, I become upset very easily, I tend to let things bother me, and it’s is hard for me to let things go. I know that being a staff member I should learn how to develop a stronger back bone but it is easier said than done. Especially when I have been like this my entire life I have always been quick to snap back or have an attitude trying to defend myself when there was nothing wrong in the first place. I am very opinionated but I try so hard not to always voice it so I do not make a mistake I will regret. I have tried and tried again to deal with this because it annoys me to death but I don’t know how to overcome it but I am trying.

Joking around- I love to joke around a lot and be fun but some people take this as immaturity. I’m 20 but I don’t act like it in some situations! I would much rather be fun instead of some boring old staff member who can’t take a joke or talk to anybody in a joking manner. I love to get involved in chat and mess around and joke with some of the players. I don’t want the way I act to be a big deal but if it is just know I’m trying to change it, and I don’t want anybody to ever feel offended if what I say comes off to strong and I am not trying to sound rude or mean. I can take a joke with the best of them but I don’t do well if you are being a jerk about it, then that goes back to me being sensitive and I get upset. But I am going to try to cool it down a little bit.

Conclusion:

Overall, my time being helper has been an amazing one but I am so sure of my abilities to further my role as a staff member! I have been bombarded lately with “you should apply for mod” “you need to be mod now.” Well, I am taking a second to listen to the community and some fellow staff members and do as they ask even though I took a while to do so! I believe I am ready for the next step and I feel as if I am qualified for the position at hand. “I understand that it takes time and effort to get where I want to be but that won’t happen unless I try. You should always believe in yourself no matter how many times people tell you that you can’t do something.” That is a quote from my helper app and to this day I still live by it.
