Whenever you cook something ive always thought you should get some meebles for it. When I was a citizen and owned a restraint I made a lot of money off the food but there was no job for it. When you cook steak, potatoes, or anything you should get some meebles. Making food item or something. I think this is a good diea

+1 Seems like a good idea as long as /smelt doesn't apply to it. That would probably ruin the eco and make us ults rich.

Good idea, and it would benefit our citizens who spend their time in wild. I'd suggest only about 3 Meebles per food item, so each coal can generate 24 Meebles in addition to whatever the food sells for. Obviously, Ultimates' /smelt should not apply to this, but when someone actually uses a furnace to do so (which might be a little harder to implement, differentiating between /smelt and an actual furnace block?).

Furnaces don't give any XP worth mentioning. Cooking food items gives one 0.35 XP, whereas killing a zombie gives you 5. The most you can even get from smelting is 1, when you smelt diamond ore, and 0.75, with redstone ore (both ores that aren't worth using Silk Touch on). It's not really worth mentioning.

maybe there should be a "Crafter" job which you get money for brewing, smelting and crafting. i remember that there used to be a brewing job...

well a normal furnace gives you XP, so if the player cooks an item AND gets XP at the same time then give some meebles?

This would only work if you receive the XP while being "near" the stuff being cooked. Otherwise one could just set up tens of thousands of food items in a chest, and run em through a smelting machine.

This would be a great way to put stuff into a chest, an automatic furnace, and AFK there for four hours and get a lot of money.

Those "eco paranoia" fellows might say that encouraging people to cook more will result in a larger supply of those said items existing, ultimately resulting in a drop in value of those said items, blah blah blah "extra meebles might accidentally make people happy"

+1 only if it is limited to manual crafting/smelting

no clue as to feasibility code wise
