I was thinking about making written books more useful by making them publishable around MeepCraft. The main command would be /book, which could open up the slot system like /vote or /help. You could buy books published by other people around the community from genres like Short Stories, Guides, Journals, Documentaries, Poems, Jokes, Secrets, Essays, News, etc.

    Book Publishing System:
You would first need to have the book written up already as a draft. Then, you would go to a publish button on /book to get it published. You would need to have the book in your hand and then the book would be submitted for approval (This is the only objective part, as I can't think of a way to get the book approved by a certain group of people to check for any errors or trolls such as cursing, etc). Once it is approved, you can make copies of the book with another button, then selecting the book you want published. You can choose between 1,5,10,25, or 36 (you must have the book and quills you want to turn into books to prevent any problems with duplicating, and 36 is the most you can fully hold in your inventory). Copies would cost meebles of course, not sure how much but definitely above the price of a book and quill, so around 300+. After that, you would choose the genre of the book and it would then be finally submitted.

    Buying a Book:
People can purchase their own copy. Only the author of the book, which would appear when you hover your mouse on it can make copies of this specific title. They would obviously not be able to publish the book they bought themselves, as it would be copyright and the people that approve the books would find out it matches. If they simply rewrite it and give it to their friend, it wouldn't necessarily matter. In real life, you could rewrite something and hand it over to someone and not get in trouble because you aren't selling it. If someone does try to sell it to you, you could just report it as a scam since that's what the /book command is for in the first place. But most importantly, who would take the time to rewrite it?

    Why Add This:
It would be a nice way for people to earn some extra money if you're not exactly good at PvP, Parkour, or any other minigame that requires skills in keyboard and mouse'ing. It would increase the creativity around the community and expand on what our real society has done with writing itself. It could also be used by the server to publish daily or weekly news on what has happened, simply to keep record. Of course you can simply use the forums for this, so that's where I don't think that certain aspect would be necessary.
Still, I feel like written books are worthless in Minecraft, and if a system can be worked out here in Meep, it could add something that no other server has done before, which would make MeepCraft much more unique.

Rest assured, the system would be complex concerning duplicating and the people that get to review everything. They could get their fair share of the books they reviewed just like in real life, but the problem is who will be allowed to do so. If someone found a mistake that the publisher didn't catch, it would let you know with the /book command where there would be info on who helped publish the books and the /book command can also tell you the list of all publishers around the server. One would probably have to apply for publisher with some sort of application form in the forums. I can't think of any possible methods, so I'm posting this to see what people have to say. This is a pretty creative idea, but I don't have enough perfection on it just yet. Still, I wanted to give it a shot.

    All Feedback is appreciated.

    Update (12/30/15)
-Price of the book can go up based on popularity and price based on supply and demand.
-Add a counter to how many copies are sold to count popularity
-There could be a cool-down on how many books can be published to prevent spamming. Ranks can also be used to make this cool-down go by faster.
Example (Not Real Times to be added, just to understand)
    Citizens - Every 7 Days
    VIP - 6 Days
    Premium - 5 Days
    Exclusive - 4 Days
    Elite - 3 Days
    Supreme - 2 Days
    Ultimate - 1 Day
-Concerning plagiarism, I can't think of a problem with this as it is in game money and not real value, but at the same time should not be done. One normally would have to copy and paste the text to a plagiarism checker, such as grammarly. Possibly the author would have to make a word processed document to check for plagiarism. However, that might be way too complicated than the idea already is.
