Is sexuality predetermined at birth or is it based off of environmental factors

idk but all I know is that when people go to prison some of them come out gay which is suspicious to say the least

Sexuality is a spectrum which can evolve through time, in my opinion.

 

Why don't people cite some medical opinions on this binary fact? There isn't much to debate here, it comes down to the consensus of the scientific community.

 

I believe you find your preference over time, it does not depend on your environment either. My mum was in a same sex relationship throughout my childhood and I never hooked up with any guys at the time and certainly have never thought of dating one despite shenanigans.

I was raised in both a same sex relationship household and straight one. Not implying that, I love my women thanks. On a night out we'll hook up with anyone for the banter but that's it, theres no attraction just having fun.

It could be the product of the subconscious. You aren't born depressed or anxious but you also don't choose to be depressed or anxious.

 

I think you hit the answer here that I agree with. I think depending on your surroundings and how you grow up you'll subconsciously develop a certain type of sexual orientation. I don't think your born with a sexual orientation at birth but what may have happened before birth and after might hinder or lead you to not being heterosexual.

 

I believe that it is very possible that genetic factors play a role in your sexual preferences later in life, and that it's equally possible environmental factors have the same significance.

It's not obvious though, I will always continue to believe that it's determined biologically and through the evolution of humans.

There's also close friends with same sex parents and their relationship/household was great, ideally with your thinking they'd have the same preference aswell since people often remain with what they are comfortable with.

On the second matter it's like a receiving a happy meal but the additional toy thats part of the deal isn't the one you desire. Frequently when there is an aditional participant people do not have an attraction to them.

Not sure I follow. You can either choose to be straight or gay. There doesn't need to be some huge science mumbo jumbo over something that doesn't matter, or shouldn't matter, to anyone other than yourself.
