I’m very thankful for the policemen & women who protect me everyday of my life. I am also thankful for the amazing country in which I call home, America. However, @xAZN_SJx, a Canadian says America & cops are ‘racist’. Not all cops, but most.

I agree with Klutch. I just want @xAZN_SJx to realize America isn’t racist & Cops aren’t bad.

Are you familiar with using substitution to disprove logical premises? I substituted the objects (cops, minorities) with two other objects (kids, school shooters) in order to show that your logic was incorrect.
Just because some cops have been put in jail for murdering people with a racist bias doesn’t mean all cops are racist. In fact , I’m sure around 1% or less have been jailed for explicitly shooting someone on the bias of race.

Overly simplified and biased question and poll. America has more institutionalized racism than other developed nations, which is expressed and evidenced by the countless unjust killings of unarmed black men.

I think some people fail to realize policemen are humans too & make mistakes. Just because a white cop punishes a black citizen (and vice versa) doesn’t mean that cop is racist & committing a hate crime. He’s doing his job. Sometimes they have 0.01 seconds to think about what to do while under heavy pressure.

 

a "mistake" is too positive of a term when killing someone, lots of instances where people were harmed or shot couldve been solved with so many other things, such as a tazer

 

The reason the cops don't go to jail is because they say it's "self defense".
