A New Chat channel for Advertising

I'll start this off by apologizing the last few days about advertising. My new Pwarp needed some visibility so I was spamming /g trying to advertise my wares.

I was quickly informed that I needed to tone it down. I think that is very true but it's a problem we see a lot due to the current nature of the chest shop based server economy. Back in the old days when you could sell and buy instantly all you got was the occasional add for Storage wars or a God Fortune Pick.

These days we need a better method of advertizing.

My suggestion:
/Ad, /Trade, or /Market whichever makes the most sense to impliment from a server standpoint but any of these chat channels would message the whole server similar to /G with a advertisement.

On this channel the only Spam rule would be that your ads have to have one other message between them and your last one. If I want to fire off an add every 15 seconds (provided the channel is pretty active) I am allowed.
Other ideas may also be to make it a new color,Green or something, to draw attention to the add.

Now before you go Hey Hey no way! Here's the best part of my idea. Allow Meepers to enable/disable /Ads with /ads view and /ads ignore.

That way if I'm tommy Meeper and I am not buying anything but just parkoring I can ignore ads and have a much cleaner chat box to see my next jump better but if I'm Susie Meepett and I need to find some Iron Ingots I can enable it and my channel is quickly flooded with shop ads.

ALL ADS would go into this list and any /G ads whether its pwarp or drop party would first get a kick and then a temp ban.

The benefits that I see is that if I want to sit around in my shop and spam away with my ads (and create business) I can do it. If I want to ignore ads and live in a meepcraft with less spam chats I can do that as well.

 

This is actually the biggest problem. While it'd be appealing to remove some ads from the chat, that's what /ignore (player) is for. If we remove all the adverts, we'll miss nearly every deal out there and newbs will have less business, and everyone gets less money in general.

You can do this in /g. if someone has a problem they can /ignore YOU only.

My main problem is the toggle-ability.

 

Set /Ads on by default and make it so people have to type /ads ignore when they log in. That way for 90% of people that don't really care (too lazy to change) it will stay on.

 

Thing is
All the players that know /ads ignore is there, will do it to reduce spam.
That's a good chunk of players.

 

+1 creative and if you don't want this I think you should be able to toggle it. Good idea!
