so as I remember my first long time run with meep there would be an average of ~200 players on. this was in 1.8.9 and I remember the day that fuzzlr built the shop for the fly notes. in alpha I had an iron trapdoor that one of the staff helping him had dropped in my ender chest. in fact I think I have some screenshots. but ill need to look for those. the point is, that I know about the 2 mass extinctions of the "meeper" race, the first was when the perks were taken from the ranks and the second (I have only heard of this) was the reset. as a quite close and static community and with 99% of regulars being donators and staff. we should feel more encouraged to help get meep back to that average of 200 people online. one way to do this is by compiling a list in a spreadsheet program like excel or sheets, of every minecraft server website that meepcraft is on, and what ones meep is NOT on and well, move them to the on category. another would be through some sort of promotion. like trying to get some smaller youtubers on the server in exchange for a rank instead of a fat wad of cash and I do know about the large youtubers fuzzlr paid to join but if we can get more content creators making new and relevant commentary about meepcraft, like in depth tutorials for things like towns, wild, general info (making money, getting resources) and possibly some lp content that would help. something we could also do as a community is getting those who are more artistically talented to make some adds/banners/promo content it wouldn't hurt.
    -these are some helpful ways:
advertising on as many mc server websites as possible
    getting some smaller youtuber endorsements
    working together
    making art/promo for the server
getting more social media outlets (reddit, g+, instagram[not fuzzlr's])
something like what fuzzlr has here (Fuzzlr – Minecraft Profile – NameMC)
    -some unhelpful ways:
    advertising on another server
asking and/or bothering youtubers/streamers to join (unless you know them and can get approval to give them an offer)
adds on non minecraft related websites
tweeting ANYONE at mojang to give the server a highlight on minecraft.net

so peoples of meep, do you think we can come together with a common goal to boost meep's player count and give meaning to "the worlds largest towny server"?

    I do.
But this has already been happening. Staff, high staff especially, are finding ways to advertise Meepcraft (I think), and our duty as members of the community is to welcome them into our towns and get them started.

There are tons of things you can do that don't make much a difference now, but help in the long run.

There was a minecraft summer building contest at my middle school a couple years back, and I participated in it. I won a gift card, and many people asked where I built it. I told them on meepcraft, and sure enough a couple kids from my school came, maybe 10 to 15.

That many players didn't really make much of an impact, but it got meepcraft's name out there. Even in the smallest of ways, you can advertise meepcraft in your community. Not telling anyone to make a billion posters around their town, but there are still many younger kids who play. If you're spending the holidays with your cousins and they play minecraft, tell them to join meepcraft. They might stay, they might not, but at least you can do something, no matter the scale.
