    Thats what I did.

    No one wants to do staff work all the time. Sometimes, a scamming case or a griefing case takes 30 minutes to an hour and a half to completely log depending on how severe it is. The people are volunteers and if they determine that they want to take a break from modreqs and be a player for a couple minutes, then I don't see the problem. Its all situational. Haven't seen meep in a while, so I cannot attest to the perceived efficiency of staff work, but maybe try and realize staff have to do a lot of the dirty work that you don't, so cut em some slack.

    staff, especially helpers, are there to do modreqs lol, and if that's their job and they're neglecting it that's a serious issue
    you don't just sign up for something then sit down and do whatever because you don't enjoy it, that's horrible logic and would make staff effectively useless

    They are players, not workhorses. They don't get paid to deal with you idiots. Quickest way to staff burn out is to treat them as modreq machines and not players

    you must be none the wiser to stay on here posting crap like that and interacting with the idiots still :)

    that's exactly what was expected of me as a helper so i speak from experience, just because something is "boring" doesnt mean i dont do it. Most modreqs were simple questions and not necessarily difficult. I never personally had a problem with them, but I haven't been staff for slightly under five months so that's probably a moot point. There are about 30 active players on weekdays and 40-50 on weekends - I'm sure that produces less workload than the c. 70 player server I was staff on. I'd love to be enlightened if that's not the case.

    Speaking as the person that trained and moderated you for part of if not all of your time as staff, this is so not the case, except if you mean by fellow helpers and the ordinary player. Past that modreqs are not the priority unless youre doing none of them and that wasnt even applicable in some cases and some timezone activities
    Like I didnt do modreqs for 3 weeks (mostly because clueless kept stealing them all dear god) and I explained that to the admin that asked and it was all good from there


    No, what you were rode on about was your trash attitude in public places and poorly handled modreqs, not the actual act of doing them or lack thereof.

    The expectation was for you to be competent and you proved you were not

    yes we were careless in not just taking it to skype while he built for us, but he took pictures of what should have been common sense to keep private.

    i was always jumping at the chance to do modreqs and i really did do my best on them, catching a duper on the first day then collecting evidence on another. IIRC it was pseudo who ended up getting us both demoted because he didn't do work, and I was associated with him since we had been friends for a very long time and pretty much synonymous in the eyes of the community. So I'm really not sure that I was doing a bad job, but if I was putting in that much effort and no one told me that I was (since apparently that's true but it's also the first time I've heard of it) - what's the problem? I genuinely enjoyed staff and doing modreqs.

    regardless let's not make this thread about me

    I did not mean idiots to say that I'm better or convey anger at the situation. I apologize if I came off that way. I meant idiots in the fact that the player base has a lot of young teenagers and can be very frustrating or annoying to deal with. I think your view of staff isn't healthy. I've been staff a few times and while yes, I did my best to do them and did them when I could, I naturally got tired of doing them. Working for free to then be shit on by the people I'm helping is not a fun experience and happens to every staff. Sometimes, and very reasonably, I wanted a break. I wanted to enjoy my free time talking to my friends and enjoying myself rather than doing free work. That is more so my point. Treat people as machines they burn out. Treat them as players and volunteers, you get an overall better staff team.

    yeah that's my bad and you're actually completely correct on that

    it's much more fun when you do things like helping people find out who griefed, but the majority of modreqs were things like someone asking "why aren't mobs spawming" after he was walking around in wild (actually happened)
