Improving /bal

Background/Problem​

With the addition of Gamma, things have only gotten more confusing for new players. It's so hard to explain, many longtime community members need a thorough explanation of how the current economy on the server works. Simply put, /bal is a mess because it doesn't tell you which economy it is displaying for.

Change​

My idea would affect both parts of /bal. By that, I mean checking your own balance, and the balance of someone else. All you would need to do is /bal (Alpha/Beta or Gamma). Therefore, you can check your A/B balance while in Gamma, and vice versa. If you do just /bal, it defaults to whatever world you're in.

The second part of this would be when you log in. Instead of displaying bal as it currently does, it would tell you the amount of Meebles you have in A/B on one row by saying "X Alpha/Beta Meebles," and then have "X Gamma Meebles" on a second line.

Hopefully, this will make things a bit easier to navigate. In addition, this would partially solve the problem of people coming back to see their balance is cleared from the Gamma release. There's not too much to say about this, so basically it would just allow you to check your /bal for both economies without changing worlds.

 

Cool idea, just doesn't seem that needed or useful. As one of the only times i use /bal is to check how much i made in the last x hours. Then again it would help new players understand the new worlds with more ease.

 

I would just called alpha/beta Legacy Meebles
And gamma just Meebles

Agreed, the main purpose for this would be so people logging back in from the update wouldn't start panicking on losing their Meebles, so Legacy would easily work too.

I would expand on this by allowing you to pay people from your legacy balance to their legacy balance. This would mean that people doing meeble transfers wouldn't have to keep switching worlds...

 

Also maybe add a direct server-side way of converting your bal... Maybe have it so you can/pay your other balance and it will convert it at 50:1 (maybe with fees?)

 

That's a totally different suggestion, so I chose not to include it in this.
