Minigames are not the solution; as we've seen for the past two years or so.

Figuring out a way to add highly customized content into towny would leverage the server against other servers with towny, giving us a step up compared to them, and intrigue older players to come back and check it out.

A reset is most likely the literal worst idea there is.

 

I think meep needs to try to not be something it is not. Meep was never about minigames for me, i stayed because of the towny on the server. It was stable, they were creating and working with the economy. They were customizing the economy and the towny plugin. That is what i think we should do, remove most minigames that takes a lot of ressources to fix/add and then work on the towny part of the server. And keeping some minigames is good but it is kinda like stuffing, it should not be the main part of the server in my opinion. In my opinion the main issue is that there is not priority list for the server, like towny could be a priority. That means that if something happens to the towny plugin that needs to be fixed. It will be assigned to as soon as possible. You could say that they are doing that like with the /shop being down. But there are still major economy issues like there is no outlet for spawners and there is no restrictions on spawned items that can be sold to the shop. These are issues that are having a huge long time effect on the economy and it needs to be fixed/changed.

 

Yes imo I think a reset would cause more people to leave (myself included) than would be gained in old players coming.

But lets not have this discussion now.

Back to the OP's point, we, as a community, should come up with some unique mini games that could attract new players (meep could also sell these mini games to other servers to bring in money and advertise on other servers).

I was thinking maybe mini games that involve using /gadgets (cough cough poop bomb cough cough).

Focus on keeping the current active player from leaving. That includes fixing the broken plug ins and Minigames and adding new content to the Minigames that contects them with towny. That would keep the current players to continue playing. After that add a new voting reward system in to give the players a reason to vote because the current rewards are garbage. That will raise the server on the leaderboards and bring in a few players which will then continue to vote which will get the leaderboards higher and higher. That will then increase donations which will increase advertising which will increase player count.
